Drama student Katy Andrews returns to Mike and his extra-terrestrial friend Angelo's household after her disappointing trip to Hollywood. She discovers that Mike has become addicted to watching horror movies. Angelo tries to cure him.

An expensive mishap with a window-cleaning machine proves one expensive mishap too many, so Angelo is 'encouraged' to find a job for himself so that he can pay his own way. Unfortunately, he soon finds himself signed up for the army, and hasn't reckoned on Sergeant Sayers when he tries to back out.

Angelo turns to Shakespeare to help him write a sitcom.

No one's in the right mood to hold a conversation with Angelo, so he does the only sensible thing he can think of in the circumstances: sets up his own talk radio station. Eventually, an unexpected rivalry develops, leading to a battle of the airwaves. Meanwhile, Mike has a rival of his own to contend with.

Katy wants to give up acting but Angelo has other ideas.

As Mike's 14th birthday approaches, he learns that he has inherited a title from a distant uncle, and is now Lord Michael. Will Angelo, not known for keeping his feet on the ground, help Mike as he tries to do the same?
