Ryu Kenzaki is a gangster boss likes pan fried mini sausages. Kosuzu enjoys sweet egg omelets. Through mutual respect and understanding they become friends, although Kosuku being gay would prefer a deeper relationship.

An unemployed Enka singer (modernized Japanese ballad) shares a bowl of fish flakes on rice with the master in the mornings. Her luck changes when she meets a composer, but fate has other plans for her.

3 single middle aged best friends frequents the Midnight Diner for Ochazuke and juicy gossips. But their seemingly unbreakable friendship gets challenged when one of them decides to join a blind date.

A young fellow is determined to get into the porn business, and pesters a famous porn star to be his mentor. Achieving his goal he quickly learns its not all fun but a lot of work.

An arrogant food critic is invited for a meal at the diner prompting resentment from the regular patrons. A visit by an elderly guitarist and his performance payment of a simple bowl of butter rice resurrects memories for the food critic.

A second rate boxer gets a chance to prove himself in the ring to a young widow and her daughter.

A young couple tries to make their relationship work in spite of him being poor but hardworking and she an aspiring actress with potential.

A former girl band star gets a role in a television series, but the character's sad backstory mirrors her own childhood and forces her to confront her past.

Marilyn, a regular customer at the diner is a locally celebrated stripper, befriends a mysterious older woman who has a secret past.

Gen-chan stabs a rival yakuza boss in retaliation to an attack on his own boss Ryu. Hiding from the police he comes to realize he has to own up to his actions including ones from his long buried past.
