After her daughter commits suicide, Dr. Price does a post-mortem on a brutally murdered student from the same college. Red thinks the killer is someone known to the victim until another woman is murdered, seemingly by the same killer.

Red discovers the murderer is patterning the kills after Dane's "Inferno". DI Price is convinced Isabel was murdered and suspended when he tries to prove it.

As the victim toll mounts, Red becomes increasingly frustrated until he realizes Isabel is the key to solving the cases.
