Fearing the threat of downsizing, Melissa (Melissa Diakova) a photographer for a major network, drags her cousin Ricardo (Pablo Montoya), a journalist, into a huge lie that gets them into the biggest project they have undertaken; a documentary about "La Sele" (Costa Rican national soccer team)

While trying to get footage for their "documentary", Melissa misleads a reporter (Raúl Cabrera) into thinking that Giancarlo "Pipo" González (central defender for "La Sele") has passed away in an airplane crash. The news generates national mourning, and now Melissa and Ricardo must find out a way to set the record straight.

Lucía (Laura Alvarado), the corporate liaison for the network and assistant to Don Ignacio (Melissa and Ricardo's boss), gets them an exclusive interview with goalkeeper Keylor Navas. However, the interview is in peril due to the arrival of Melissa's arch nemesis and most hated rival; her twin sister Clarissa (Clarissa Diakova).

After Clarissa destroys their chances of interviewing Keylor and Lucía tells them Don Ignacio is furious, Melissa and Ricardo reminisce about another terrible day Melissa had in 2013.

Melissa and Ricardo eat an entire batch of pot brownies. What follows is an intricate plot of corruption between the National Soccer League and the biggest network in the country.

Actually, there was no corruption plot. It was just Clarissa trying to screw with their heads. However, the consequences are real.

Melissa is trying to interview the head coach of "La Sele" before they leave for the World Cup. Meanwhile, Ricardo is a finalist to win a literary prize thanks to a manuscript he wrote.

Melissa and Ricardo try to fact-check the manuscript he handed in for the contest after the jury finds a mistake.

Clarissa arrives with an olive branch; telling Melissa and Ricardo that if they work with her, there could be a chance that the three of them get sent to Russia for the World Cup.

Melissa and Ricardo have several bizarre experiences while covering the 2018 Russia World Cup.

Ricardo gets sent to Anger Management. Melissa tags along.

An unexpected death and an unexpected pregnancy shock Melissa and Ricardo's world, while they are finally completing their documentary about "La Sele".
