The Top 24 junior home cooks in America arrive in the MASTERCHEF kitchen and are immediately put to the test to prove they can master any challenge thrown their way. These chef-testants begin to learn the importance of teamwork and speed in the kitchen, while facing two sets of eliminations.

The 22 remaining junior home cooks are divided into teams of four and face a speed and teamwork challenge to make as many perfect banana splits as possible! Not only is an elimination on the line, but the winning team gets to turn a judge into a human banana split.

In the season's first big team challenge, the top 20 junior home cooks test their leadership and communication skills in a bold carnival-themed competition. As two teams of nine fuel 51 Circus Vargas performers with a delicious lunch, one team prepares seared salmon and the other grills NY strip steak.

The pressure is on for the remaining 18 young home cooks, who must debone an entire fish and make a MASTERCHEF worthy dish, or be at risk in a challenge. Not only are there big stakes at hand - the winner will receive a special advantage worthy of the effort - but the cooks also bring heart to the table as they reveal how their cultural heritages influence their cooking styles.

The Top 16 home cooks face a sticky situation when they are divided into three teams and tasked with a Gordon masterclass - make as many stunning English trifles as possible in under 20 minutes. Only one team proves they have enough creativity and finesse to bypass the elimination round, the remaining home cooks are challenged to make three identical sliders.

The top 14 get a mystery box with a whole duck the must be butchered and then are paired into teams for a cupcake challenge.

The Top 14 chef-testants head to the great outdoors for a chicken cookout. Hungry campers at the KIDS CAMP MASTERCHEF will decide which dish reigns supreme, and the winning team's recipe will be featured in Family Circle Magazine. The losing team must face a coconut cream pie pressure test that proves to be not as "sweet" as it may seem.

The Top 12 are in for a surprise when the kids from Kidz Bop arrive and put their twist on a mystery box challenge, deciding which ingredients the home cooks must craft into an elevated dish full of personality. Only one will win a huge advantage, forever altering his/or/her MASTERCHEF journey in a "blast from the past" elimination test.

It's a battle to the finish line when the Top 10 are tasked with a pasta race. The home cooks are divided into teams and compete to roll out the longest sheet of pasta as fast as they possibly can. The first team's pasta sheet to make it to the winner's circle will be safe and exempt from a high-stakes elimination test in which éclairs are the dish du jour.

The top 10 divide into two teams and prepare dishes for female role models. The losing team must replicate a 3-Michelin-star fish after a masterclass with Gordon.

The Top Six junior home cooks tackle the most daunting challenge in MASTERCHEF JUNIOR history when they take over Michelin Star Los Angeles restaurant Mélisse. To rise to the occasion, the teams face an intense environment, hungry guests with high expectations and the wrath of Gordon Ramsay. Find out which team makes it straight into the semifinal and which team will be sent into eliminations.

In the season's last mystery box challenge, the remaining contestants receive a surprise taste from home when they are tasked with creating a dish inspired by family. Whoever wins this challenge will immediately earn a spot in the MASTERCHEF JUNIOR finale.
