The day of the Circus offers an opportunity to reclaim the peaches but other misappropriations by Headmistress Johnson come to light during the operation.

Thunder is dangerously ill but Headmistress Johnson viciously tries to prevent anyone from giving aid. Bill defies her and takes matters into her own hands to take a crucial ride.

An art thief has been using Malory Towers to conceal their loot. Both Ron and Headmistress Johnson are suspects. After Ron is arrested a third suspect comes to light however.

The Malory Towers girls try to stop the Johnson twins from escaping justice.

Darrell, Gwendoline, Sally, Mary-Lou and Ellen end up stranded at Malory Towers over the Christmas holiday. Miss Grayling and Matron end up stranded on the side of the road in a storm, leaving the girls alone in the school or are they actually alone?
