Sandra Paoli, a Corsican lawyer, cradles her uncle François as he dies, having been shot in a gang-land battle. It seems that was payback for a criminal she recently had convicted. A surprise is in store for Paoli's family, friends and in particular his business associates when his will is read and the news spreads in tight knit community. Can his niece, his nephew Jean-Michel and their family and close friends survive the ensuing chaos?

Sandra and her brother Jean-Michel, her right-hand man, take on their first official business as clan leaders when a rich local official named Zamponi tips them off about a potential jewellery heist.

Sandra discovers a human trafficking ring is smuggling underage Albanian girls into Corsica to work as prostitutes. She vows to dismantle their network, even if it means collaborating with the police.

After an explosion in a building belonging to the Paoli clan, Sandra is tasked with finding the person responsible for the attack. Carmen, Jean-Michel's daughter, is kidnapped from outside her school.

An illegal distillery belonging to the Paolis is attacked and a crisis meeting is called. Who is trying to destabilize the clan? Sandra pays a visit to Jean-Michel's regular side-kick Martial Santoni.

In a rigged boxing match organized by the Paoli clan, the crime family's champion, Tino, is told to last nine rounds but unexpectedly collapses in the seventh and is shot down in the street afterwards.

The Paoli clan await the arrival of a cargo boat loaded with illegal weapons, but they have unwittingly fallen into a police trap. Sandra seizes a moment of unrest to launch her political career.

Sandra secures her election victory and tells Jean-Michel she will continue to pull strings for the clan but won't be getting her hands dirty in future. However, the authorities are slowly closing in.
