Confronted with unexpected widowhood after the sudden death of her husband, attractive Lamy fights to keep her rustic home. However, her rural paradise is threatened by meddlesome townspeople who don't approve of the lifestyle she has chosen for herself and her young daughter Mimi.

Four teenage juvenile delinquents with a history of tormenting and intimidating their teachers in a small town high school direct their aggression toward new teacher Delphine Murphy. The tables turn when Murphy becomes the only person who can clear the four after they're accused of committing a crime.

The pair enjoy an instant chemistry, but the proceedings are muddled by Connie's younger brother who idol worships Adams.
