Hattie, owner of the Love Train Diner, has become fed-up with her grandson Danny leeching off her. With his new college degree, he is able to successfully receive a position at his friends Sam and Drew's workplace; Uncle Floyd discovers Linda's husband out with another woman.

After receiving word about her cheating husband, Linda goes into a depressed state and finds comfort staying at her mother's home.

Sam learns that Linda has received a key from Danny to the "bachelor pad", and he demands that he get it back from her after she walks in on him while he is nude.

Linda leans on her son after her divorce; Sam feels Danny's clingy mother is visiting too much.

Linda hopes to stay at Floyd's apartment after Hattie refuses to let her in; Hattie uses tough love to encourage Linda to fight for her life.

Linda starts working at the diner; the health inspector has a surprise visit; Linda and Floyd work to get the diner back up to code.

A fire erupts at the diner and everyone thinks Hattie is responsible; a fire marshal determines the cause of the fire.

business is slow at the diner, Hattie considers teaming up with Vivian.

When Sam wakes up handcuffed to Hattie, he vows to stop partying.

Hattie misinterprets a conversation about celibacy; Danny believes that Linda as turned to prostitution.

Linda runs into her high school sweetheart, and then questions her existence.

Danny bets Sam he cannot stay in the apartment for an entire weekend.

After attending a funeral, Sam decides to turn over a new leaf.

Drew does not want Marianna around, believing she could be stealing potential dates.

Rather than hanging out with his mother, Danny is urged to spend time with people his own age.

Danny and Sam mentor ''at risk'' youths; Floyd is robbed at the restaurant.

After being accused of infidelity, Danny fears for his safety.
