Sixteen years ago, Beijing resident Li Kai joined over 10,000 other ordinary Chinese on their way to the center of the capital. They calmly gathered on Fuyou Street, the location of China's Central Appeals Office-and right next to Zhongnanhai, the seat of China's regime and living quarters for the Communist Party leadership.

Two extraordinary woman witness a unique era.

In 2013 the European Parliament has put the People's Republic of China on notice that its practice of forced organ harvesting is unacceptable. A resolution passed Thursday afternoon in Strasbourg, France, expresses "deep concern over persistent and credible reports of systematic, state-sanctioned organ harvesting from non-consenting prisoners of conscience in the People's Republic of China, including from large numbers of Falun Gong practitioners imprisoned for their religious beliefs, and members of other religious and ethnic minority groups."

At 14:00 on November 20th, 2001, 36 Westerners from 15 countries gathered in Tiananmen Square. They quietly sat cross-legged and pulled up a large banner that read "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance". 17 seconds after displaying the banner, police surrounded them. Who were they? Why did they gather in Tiananmen Square? What was their fate?
