Rubinsky pulls the necessary strings to manipulate the outcome of the war, whereas the Allied government has plans of its own regarding Yang.

The aftermath of the battle of the fortresses prompts Rubinsky to set in motion a plan that may cause the defeat of the Alliance.

The abduction of the emperor is set up as casus belli for Von Lohengramm to invade the Free Planets Alliance.

The kidnappers of the emperor establish a government in exile with support of the Alliance, leaving Von Lohengramm as de facto leader of the Empire.

Julian is sent on a mission to Fezzan.

The severely weakened Alliance desperately tries to prepare for the imminent imperial invasion.

Seeing how the station has lost its strategic value, Yang decides to evacuate Iserlohn Fortress.

Julian narrowly escapes Fezzan, while Von Lohengramm briefs his staff about the upcoming confrontation with the Alliance fleet.

The Alliance fleet tries to minimize damage during the Battle of Rantemario, vastly outnumbered by the Imperial forces.

Returning to Heinessen, Yang is promoted to fleet admiral and tasked to come up with a new defense strategy. Seeing how Von Lohengramm has fallen ill, the Allied forces may just stand a chance.

With clever guerrilla tactics, Yang achieves multiple consecutive victories, forcing the imperial forces to revise their strategy.

The Empire and the Alliance prepare for the decisive battle.

The continuation of the battle between Von Lohangramm and Yang, which will decide the fate of the Alliance.

Before Yang can deliver the final blow against Von Lohengramm, he is informed of the Alliance's unconditional surrender to the Empire.

With the surrender of the Free Planets Alliance, Yang retires to a quiet life, whilst Von Lohengramm is crowned emperor of the known universe.
