While working as a machinist, Seamus O'Neill wins the New Jersey State Lottery and moves to Key West, Florida.

Seamus settles into paradise while waiting for his lottery winnings to arrive.

The Flu hits the island and threatens to close the newspaper. Gumbo deals with events from his past.

Seamus O'Neill's ex-girlfriend arrives in town during a street festival and raffle. Mayor Chaucy Caldwell is raffled off as slave-for-a-day to Jo-Jo. Rikki holds a random lingerie party. Drama ensues.

Seamus is assigned the obituary of an island legend and is entrusted with the old man's ashes.

Sam J. Jones guests as a naval officer who captures Savannah's attention and Seamus is invited to go on a trip to Africa with two irresponsible friends from his youth.

Based on Hurricane Andrew (August 24, 1992). Locals gather at Gumbo's bar to party while waiting for a Hurricane to hit or pass them by.

A stern nun from Savannah's schooldays visits and asks a favor of her. Meanwhile Seamus, JoJo and Rikki look for new lodgings while their place is being fumigated.

The Government blockades Key West in an attempt to find illegal immigrants and everyone suffers, including JoJo who holds an expired visa.

When an illegal immigrant abandons her baby Seamus assumes the duties of fatherhood. Chaucy is compromised by the death of a libidinous admiral.

Seamus O'Neill's article about Gumbo's bar enables Chaucy to close it down; and Hector's dream of making a high quality cigar fails.

Hector infuriates Dr. Clarke when he dynamites the reef; mayor Chaucy intervenes. Seamus reads to Savannah, then they go for a boat ride. Treasure hunters search the beach, JoJo joins in. Sheriff Cody talks to a dolphin. Gumbo abides.
