Susan and Jacqui have decided to move in with their boyfriends, despite Dudley's objections. Meanwhile Duncan has a new telephone answering machine and Dudley never wastes an opportunity to make mischief.

Duncan's housekeeper has left him, so Muriel decides to throw a party to find him a wife. Meanwhile Susan tries her hand at selling insurance policies.

Muriel and Dudley have offered to help out at the girl guides garden fete, with Dudley in charge of the stall to win a new car. However, did he remember to post the insurance policy that covers the cost of the car?

When Dudley discovers that his daughter is going out with someone old enough to be her father, he enlists Duncan's help to put things right.

Susan agrees to buy a car she cannot afford, maybe dad will lend her the money. The only problem is that Dudley has quit his job.

Dudley has decided that it is time to redecorate the bedroom, unfortunately he suffers from delusions of competence.
