Conoce esta fascinante historia en la que Andreina Arocha, se deslumbra por la magia del circo que llega a su ciudad y desea que una gitana la consulte. La gitana le confía a otra el extraño presentimiento que tuvo al consultar a la chica. Ésta por un pequeño incidente resulta en la clínica donde el doctor hace un extraño diagnóstico.

Ernesto le declara su amor a Andreina y comienzan a preparar la boda a pesar de su enfermedad. Andreina anuncia su embarazo. Llega el momento del parto y Andreina da a luz una hermosa niña y con el paso de esta ella deja de existir.

Dorinda conversa con otra gitana sobre su mala suerte ya que no ha podido ayudar a su propia hija y alejarla de la muerte. En la noche la familia se enterá de la muerte de Ernesto en un accidente. Herminia elabora un plan perfecto para deshacerse de la niña que tanto estorba sus planes.

Herminia le pide a Matías que intercambie a las bebes (La viva y la muerta) siendo esta idea aprobada por Dorinda. Hecho el cambio a la mañana siguiente todos lloran la muerte de la pequeña beba. Dorinda celebra la vida de la "hija" de su hija y la nombra Kassandra, la princesa de los gitanos.

El circo se va del pueblo hacia otra tierras. Bajo el ambiente de este crece Kassandra, la rueda del destino la regresa al mismo pueblo 18 años después.

Kassandra y Glinka planifican un escape nocturno para conocer el pueblo mientras todos en el circo duerman. Rosaura le comenta a Herminia sobre la tristeza que embarga a Chabela. Randú busca respuestas en Kassandra sobre aquel hombre en la primera fila para el que ella bailó.

La providencia vuelve a unir a la princesa de los gitanos y su amado. El la invita a una nueva cita. Randú tratade besar a Kassandra pero esta lo rechaza.

Luis David no logra descubrir a quien le recuerda Kassandra. Ofelia conversa con Gema sobre la alegría del circo y la tristeza de su joven hija. Dorinda le descifra el porvenir a Tomás. La vieja le advierte que tenga cuidado.

Hermini conversa con Ignacio. Ella no sabe que será de su vida cuando este se vaya de la casa. Al terminar la función del circo Kassandra le pide a Glinka que la acompañe a encontrarse con su amado.

Kassandra le enseña el lenguaje de su tribu a Luis David. Chabela le ruega a Ignacio que la lleve al circo. Randú encuentra a una triste Dorinda quien le confiesa recordar que en ese lugar perdió a su hija, a su nieta y allí falleció la verdadera madre de Kassandra.

Kassandra conversa con Tomás quien impulsado por su amor la abraza, ella lo aparta ya que si el Char los ve esta teme se ponga agresivo. Randú ofrece recompenza a quien encuentre el amuleto de Kassandra. Ignacio, en el circo le comenta a Chabela que es la primera vez que asiste a algo así.

Kassandra se prepara para enfrentar lo puñales de Randú aunque se emociona creyendo que su amor esta en primera fila. Tomás decide ir al pueblo y Kassandra le pide le permita acompañarlo pero no se imagina lo que está por suceder.

Kassandra averigua donde vive Ignacio y llega a su casa con una gran excusa. Dorinda se enfada cuando Yaritza le asegura que Kassandra está en el pueblo.

Ignacio planea irse por unos días a la playa con una de sus amiguitas. Randú conversa con Ginka sobre la actitud extraña de Kassandra. Herminia le pregunta a Matías sobre la gitana que tocó la puerta de su casa.

En la montaña Kassandra sueña con el momento mágico en que se encuentre con su príncipe, pero, es otra persona quien llega a su encuentro. Herminia le reclama a Ignacio que le mintiera sobre la Gitana y le exige la verdad.

Tomás le dice a Marcelino que si Kassandra lo acepta está dispuesto a casarse con ella. Dorinda le dice a Simón que está preocupada por Kassandra y el hombre le deja ver que sabe algo al respecto de lo que le sucede a la chica.

Herminia se impacta al ver a la viva imagen de la difunta Andreina, las gitanas no entienden su reacción. En medio de la angustia y la tensión de todos en la casa de Alfonso, llega Kassandra y se impacta al ver a Ignacio.

Al ver que Kassandra conserva el broche, Dorinda se molesta pensando que la joven realmente se lo robó. Chabela le cuenta a Alfonso que Gema le regaló el valioso broche a una gitana, al hombre le parece una tontería y piensa ir a recuperarlo personalmente.

Randú reune a los integrantes de su tribu para celebrar la noche vieja. Chabela le pregunta a Rosaura si ella sabe algo respecto a su origen.

Herminia presiona a Alfonoso para que se marchen al extranjero lo antes posible. Tomás le comenta a Marcelino que piensa declararle su amor a Kassandra. Kassandra conversa con Glinka cuando de repetente se sorprende al ver la llegada de alguien.

Dorinda va en busca de Randú y le dice que deben marcharse pronto o se esponen a perder a Kassandra. Mientras Kassandra se dirige al río Randú le cuenta a Dorinda que Marcelino no quiere irse aún del pueblo.

Dorinda le cuenta a Randú que en la casa donde nació Kassandra hay un hombre interesado en ella. Ofelia les cuenta a Rosaura y Matias de la visita que Tomás le hiciera a Lilia Rosa.

Kassandra le cuenta a Dorinda que irá al pueblo con otros del circo a alegrar a una muchacha enferma. Herminia se alegra al saber que Alfonso ya consiguió los pasajes.

A pesar de los ruegos de Kassandra Randú se niega a romper su compromiso. Herminia le agradece a Gema que no le cuente nada a Alfonso del enfrentamiento que ambas tuvieran.

Randu y Dorinda se preparan para marcharse del circo con Kassandra. Ignacio piensa que debe actuar con respecto a Kassandra antes de que su madre y Alfonso lleguen de viaje.

Kassandra observa a las fieras que se encuentran en el circo tras las rejas y le dice a Randú que así se siente ella, prisionera. Ignacio piensa que pudiera ir a la ciudad a buscar a Kassandra aunque también tiene otros pensamientos muy diferentes.
