Jake Phillips is a celebrity agent, and about the best in the business, with an irresistible charm ladies fall for, men admire with envy and yet trust. When actor-client Shane wants to train for his boxer part, Jake gets him Madison Square Gardens in an hour, a sparring partner in minutes. One task even Jake finds surprisingly hard to pull off: his agency boss Naomi insists he gives her visiting sister Kylie a good night out, but she is pissed-off the womanizer never called after a date he can't remember for his life, yet enjoys her temperament as sort of a welcome ...

Jake double-dates with Allison, Patrick and his girl at a Korean barbecue restaurant; the last is an even worse loon then Patrick, but Jake has to rush off for a worse problem. His agency has landed the three Gaymigos for a benefit, but when the other two find out Dakota -in fact an alias- is actually just a straight actor, who only pretends to be gay to fit in their act, they want him replaced; Jake must plead to be as tolerant as they expect straight people to be with gays, and be fair to a proven good friend, who also happens to know secrets...

Jake has a long-running 'gentlemanlike' rivalry with competing smooth agent Peter Beth, who invites him to his birthday party. When sexy movie star Elsa Winters, Jake's ultimate teenage crush, calls she has an evening free, it's a dream come true to take her to Peter's party, making him envious enough to ask a superstar's evening escort rate. Meanwhile absent-minded Jake makes client Freddie Blake feel so neglected, the master will get a nasty surprise too, after facing a dilemma at Elsa's: her flight to New Zealand, where she expects to work for years, was moved, so ...

Jake takes boss Naomi's sister on a second date, which proves a painful experience, and scratches from her cat are just the easy part. Kylie turns her suspicion into a test: Jake must abstain from all lies to her for a full hour, which proves quite a task during their restaurant date, where his countless 'ex's' are of course represented. That he pulls off, but when forced to take her along -his wallet being stolen- when coming to actor-client Shane Cox's rescue, his mate dentist Adrian blurts out about her picture...
