School teacher Patrick Owen has a brief encounter with movie star Alex Young and despite all the glitz that comes with her, there is a definite attraction between them.

After Patrick finds out that Alex can't dance, they try a celebrity dream date found on the Internet.

Alex is intimidated by Patrick's brainy ex-girlfriend who doesn't even know who Alex is.

Alex is delighted to get a part in a movie musical, but can Patrick tell her that her voice isn't up to it?

Patrick is at first delighted to join Alex at an expensive hotel on a press junket until he meets the other stars' boyfriends and starts to feel like a kept man.
