Andrea finds out a secret about another mom at her daughter's school - that she was once a porn star - and becomes obsessed with finding out how her body, and especially her anus, is doing after all those years.

Andrea sets up a play date with the new girl in Amelia's class, and is horrified to learn that Amelia might be racist. And when preparing for a dinner party for Mike's co-workers, Andrea contracts a painful medical condition.

Noticing that her friend Kyle is getting weirder the older he gets, Andrea sets him up with Amelia's preschool teacher, despite her reservations. Andrea is upset when her father starts hitting on her married mother.

When Andrea's recently divorced friend asks her to throw a Goddess Party, Andrea tries to figure out what it is and how to throw it with a straight face. A friend hires an attractive nanny, and Andrea tries to convince her it's a bad idea.

Andrea and Mike wonder if their relationship is still on track, so they enlist self-help books and therapy to make sure they're good. And Andrea struggles to reconcile her life as a mom with her career as a comedy writer.

When Amelia begins to have questions about different types of families, Andrea looks to expose her to new role models. And suspecting that her brother is about to come out of the closet, Andrea tries to prepare Sharon for the big news.

Andrea pushes her divorced friend Jennifer back into dating so she can live vicariously through her, but ends up regretting their night out. And planning a birthday party for her father proves harder than Andrea thought.

Andrea and Mike meet a new family they hope to befriend, but things become awkward during a playdate. Andrea questions the feminist messages she's been sending to her daughter and struggles to pull back.

With Mike away on business and Amelia at her mother's, Andrea finds herself home alone for the first time in years. Andrea laments that she doesn't get to hang out with her old friend group as much as she'd like.

Worried about getting older, Andrea and Mike check in on their fertility. Andrea confronts her father about his increasingly odd behavior.
