The women throw Miranda a baby shower but an unexpected guests shows up. Meanwhile, Curtis gets the guys together for a man shower for Calvin

Janines's friend, Monica, has moved in and transformed herself and the house. Meanwhile, Tracie tries to make moves on Calvin.

While Janine is taking an overnight trip with her boss, Monica keeps the house warm and cozy with C.J. Meanwhile, Calvin helps Miranda with her labor pains.

Curtis gets a good offer for the house and wants to sell. Ella is more reluctant and everyone drops by to share cherished memories of their times in the home.

Miranda goes into labor just as Calvin prepares for his graduation while C.J. and Janine's marriage reaches a breaking point. Meanwhile, Curtis and Ella get an offer they can't refuse for the Payne house.

Miranda's labor continues while Calvin remains in jail. Janine walks out after learning of CJ kissing another woman. Malik confronts his father about his behavior.

C J and Janine continue with their divorce. Jazmine wears makeup, defying her parents but is in over her head when boys come over. Ella and Curtis have a weight loss challenge.

Malik gets ready for college. The men offer him advice and buy him condoms.

A music producer wants to sign Jasmine. Meanwhile, Calvin becomes frustrated with the job market and takes a job as a grocery store manager.

Curtis and Ella decide to intervene when they see Janine and Roland at dinner, but the plans go wrong. Meanwhile, Miranda goes on a grooming strike.

C.J. is offered a promotion making him Janine and Roland's boss. Meanwhile, while packing the house Curtis finds a bag of weed in an old box of his and Floyd smokes the weed. Calvin asks Curtis to babysit and Curtis ends up baby sitting Christian and Floyd.

Jayden may have autism. Janine blames herself. Meanwhile, Curtis lives by the rules of the Bible

Ella brings home a troubled youth from the Help Center. Meanwhile, Janine and Miranda compete to get in a competitive day care.

As Claretha secretly deals with the possibility of losing her home, the family participates in a talent show. Calvin and Miranda combine their unique talents for the show

Janine is on the brink of a breakdown. Deshawn gets a lesson in the negro baseball league.

Malik is eager to leave for college but his extended family is more reluctantly except Jazmine who has plans for his room. Calvin finds himself to busy for simple chores leaving Miranda exhausted and creating a dangerous situation.

As they wait in the hospital for word on Calvin Jr., Miranda and Calvin trade recriminations. Tracie arrives promising to deny Calvin visitation rights to his son because of the fire.

Tempers potentially flame up when CJ is forced to lay off firefighters because of budget cuts. Meanwhile, Calvin and Miranda are moving on up-they hope to move upstairs, stirring up household tension in the process.

Curtis Payne has a dream in which he is apart of his favorite sitcom, The Jeffersons. While on The Jeffersons, Curtis Payne ends up learning a lesson.

Calvin is allowed supervised visits; Ella's friend Felicia visits.

After Christian's Christening, The family gets ready to have one last Sunday dinner at Curtis and Ella's house. Unbeknownst to the family, as they prepare the meal, Calvin has been shot and is laying on C.J. and Janine's floor.

After being discovered by Janine, Calvin battles for his life at the hospital. Ella's unwavering faith won't let the family get down.

The Payne family waits for Calvin to wake up, but the fight isn't over. Curtis decides not to move.

Calvin might get discharged from the hospital after he finally awakened. Curtis attempts to mortgage his house for money to pay Calvin's medical bills.

Calvin starts suffering from PTSD from getting shot and is uncomfortable at home with Miranda, who is overwhelmed with caring for a husband, 2 kids, and a career. Meanwhile, Ella and Curtis are worried that Calvin isn't receiving proper care, and wants him move in with them.

A depressed Calvin admits to Ella that he think he would have been better off dead. The family is very concerned and Curtis has a heart to heart conversation with Calvin. Deshawn's mother visits and wants Deshawn back. Deshawn decides to go live with her.

When Malik's progressive college assigns him a female roommate, C. J. and Janine disapprove, as Ella is concerned with Claretha's use of home remedies to fight her cancer.

The family meets Malik's new free-spirited girlfriend, Summer.

While Curtis bonds with Miranda over man-centric activities, C.J.'s college buddy gives him a sports car and event tickets, expecting a significant favor in return.

Malik and Summer volunteer at a Crisis Hotline, while Curtis goes overboard with the neighborhood watch as he tries to catch a criminal.

Believing Janine's PR event idea doesn't have merit, C.J. overrides it with his own plan, and Ella is offended when Malik thinks critically about creationism and faith in God.

Malik and Summer get married. Calvin and Miranda struggle living with Curtis and Ella.

Ella is overwhelmed and falls behind in her studies due to church duties, household duties, taking care of Curtis and the rest of the family. Ella fails a test she needed to graduate and she snaps on the family. Meanwhile, Calvin and Miranda realize it's the day of their anniversary, and they both pretend they didn't forget.

Malik helps tutor a student athlete. Curtis creates a scandal for CJ.

Jasmine prays to pass a test and no longer wants to apply herself. Meanwhile, Calvin grows jealous of the baby

Unathletic Janine is thrilled to play on C.J. and Curtis's softball team, as Miranda fundamentally disagrees with Ella's philosophy of physically disciplining children.

The family befriends a sex-offender who moves into the neighborhood and all hell breaks loose when they discover his secret. Meanwhile, on their marriage-counselor's advice, C.J. and Janine look for a hobby they can share.

Summer gives Malik a hard time. Miranda suggests having a party with CJ and Janine, and keep it secret from Curtis and Ella.

The opening of Ella's shelter for battered women is threatened when C. J. finds multiple fire code violations, while Curtis has Calvin at his beck and call for denting his car.
