With just three days to preserve the legacy of a fourth generation Alaskan homesteading family, the Raneys must fix an earthquake-ravaged foundation and revive a dormant garden before hitting the lower 48 for another year of incredible rescues.

The Raneys are faced with the daunting task of overhauling a faulty electrical system and building the first hydro-electric wheel on the Little Sustina River.

To save a single mom and her daughter from rampaging moose and secure a source of food, Marty builds a bridge across a murky creek to access more property, Matt teaches predator deterrent techniques, and Misty builds a snow-proof greenhouse.

The Raneys arrive in Ohio to find the Broadhead family struggling to survive in their home made of 30,000 tire bales. Battling intruding pests, flooding, and unstable walls, the Raneys have their hands full in one of their most challenging rescues yet.

The Raneys continue rescuing the Broadhead's tire bale homestead in Central Ohio. The clock is ticking in part two of this rescue as Marty, Misty, and Matt work to provide fresh water, strengthen walls, and jumpstart an indoor garden.

After a devastating earthquake, Marty saves the Hartley's log cabin from crumbling to the ground by bracing it with sturdy lumber. Misty replaces a collapsed greenhouse; Matt constructs a brand new building for the family to start a diesel engine shop.

The Raneys help an Oregon couple with a toxic salt water well, making it impossible to maintain a food source or livestock. Marty needs clay to build a massive catchment pond and Matt must build a large scale solar still to de-contaminate the water.
