When a plane mysteriously crashes in the Indian Ocean the survivors must adapt to life on a deserted island, navigate one another's neuroses and endure the distorted fantasies of flight attendant Brett Sullivan.

While looking for food and water Harriet and Duncan find a dinghy, but it is only big enough to carry two people. Brett enlists the help of the others to build a luxury shelter.

Brett and Arnab try to find out what Harriet has hidden in her case. Susan tries to seduce Douglas. As the food salvaged from the crash runs out Douglas decides to go out hunting.

Douglas spots smoke on a neighbouring island and urges the others to help him build a raft to get there but, desperate to stop him leaving, Brett puts Douglas on trial for 'assaulting' Susan.

Brett and Douglas set off for the other island on the raft but what they discover there changes everything. In their absence Arnab relishes being King of the Island until Harriet and Susan discover his stash.

After Brett's miraculous return he learns of Harriet's large inheritance and uses the information to his advantage. Douglas is banished from the camp, but the group is promised salvation.
