Heldt spots and stop just in time the suspect car and presumed perpetrator, chemist Derja Afridi, an Afghan Taliban-widowed refugee employed by paint firm Kraft Farben. Alas, confrontation with her mother Judith shows Melanie's identity was stolen by minor car thief Lucy Kolenda, using an app on Melanie's smartphone which she 'found' in a ruin and acts as if she only rebelled to work-absorbed single father Markus Kolenda, understandable to single mother state attorney Ellen Bannenberg. Reputed Tiberius Stranach's law firm offers all victims a hefty settlement to avoid prosecution. Stranach and client Tilski plead ignorance. Heldt and Grün each tackle the case in their own style.
