To investigate a rare and extremely unpleasant case, Detective Inspector Cege Ljung is tasked with putting together a special team. He gathers his "dream team" of quirky characters on his private ship Mandala.

Why is a high human corpse buried in the middle of the wasteland? Detective Inspector Cege Ljung and his group investigate a mass grave.

Detective Inspector Cege Ljung and his special team continue the investigation into the macabre find. Witness statements indicate that a group of strange people have figured in the forest at the time of the suspected crime.

The atmosphere on the ship is are really tense as the members are getting on each other's nerves. However, the investigation is approaching a breakthrough when the identification of the victims in the grave seems to be complete.

With the identification of the victims completely clear, the group continues to search for the explanation for what happened. Fanny has found a car that is relevant in the investigation and the owner is taken in for questioning.

A cassette tape found in the investigation provides several new clues in the case. Fanny and Claes go to talk to a relative of the victims who turns out to have withheld relevant information.

One of the victims seems to have a link to a terrorist group with biological warfare agents as weapons, Säpo becomes involved in the case. Cege wants to arrest a man suspected of being involved but he needs stronger evidence.

Cege and his special team think they are close to solving the case, but only have one night before Säpo takes over the investigation. The group decides to investigate an old factory building located near the discovery site.
