Tom's latest lover Kim arouses Anouk's jealousy. Evert returns with Roelien, only she is totally focused on their marriage, and her pregnancy suffers medical misery. Martin and Cheryl return from their second honeymoon, only to find unpleasant surprises. Claire has her own unpleasant confrontation with Merel's socially most undesirable 'ideal man'.

Evert Lodewijkx goes trough hell as his clients blame him for the stock exchange collapse, so he can no longer afford his secretary and ex. Furthermore, prize-heir Roderick happily moves out to college, while bride Roelien mourns her miscarriage and takes family advice to postpone marrying the present pauper. Claire is a mess, unable to deal with criminal daughter Merel's unacceptable lover. Yari convinces Cheryl to dump most of her designer wardrobe and some of shocked Martin's in a garage sale. After his gay-bashing, stopped heroically by Dr. Rossi, Yari is depressed. Only the dogs brings some comfort to Roelien, who mourns her miscarriage, and Evert, whose business is nearly dead. The Morero dog Sinatra causes instant trouble between new neighbors Floris and Carla and Martin and Cheryl, who find Cheryl can't do his PA job nor accept an 'attractie' one around him. Evert recommends his downsized secretary Ilona. Claire's alcohol abuse gets worse, so Dr. Rossi organizes an intervention to make her check in to a detox clinic.

Evert's love-life with Roelien would be fine again, except her child-wish scares him. So he plans a vasectomy in secret. Tom's prediction Anouck won't resist her hunky window-cleaner makes her say no for once. Cheryl's enthusiasm for Ilona melts after Yari gives her a make-over, which also ends Martin's reservations. Seeking help from aunt Cor backfires. Claire checks in at a strict detox clinic, but instead of cooperating she proves a bad influence on the other alcoholics, even encourages a suicide attempt. Cheryl is jealous of culturally superior Iloon, although she actually keeps Martin in line. Anouck convinces her to take pole-dancing lessons to seduce him back, joined by her and reluctant Roelien, who excels in it. Evert manages to keep his vasectomy secret for Roelien, even concoct a story when she notices his wounds, but Cheryl ruins that deliberately. Tom and Anouck are mutually so absorbed again neither notices Vlinder being terrorized by new classmate Jasmijn. In rehab, Claire's therapist invites her haughty career mother, who abandoned her age 5.

Cheryl sensed weird around the neighbors' au pair maid Tamseen and fears Tippi could return, so Martin calls in his aunt Cor. She makes up with the neighbors by paying for insane obsequies for their killed cat. Tom actually recognized Tippi, but Anouck wouldn't worry the Morenos and insensitively leaves to scold Evert on Tom's day home, so he leaves angry. Claire's therapist insists she get the silent treatment, which makes her tell near tears about her uninterested mother. Evert's repair surgery calms Roelien down, so they agree to have offspring but not yet. She ...

Martin tells Cheryl aunt Cor his beaten intruder Tippi-Wan, who confessed the murder of his mother. They bury her, unable to explain to the police. Evert is finally ready to give Roelien a child, but seems to have 'spent his ammo' by her most fertile period. Martin is diagnosed with chlamydia, but Barry claims that he knows a potion for all sex partners. Claire enjoys sex with fellow ex-patient Dirk Stubbe, but is ashamed to be seen with the fishmonger. Cheryl insists on helping finance and organize Yari's first fashion show, but fails to pay the model advances.

Cheryl's spending and stupid business meddling have ruined the Moreros. Martin would accept to act in commercials, but she decides to sell the house instead. Anouck finally realizes she and Vlinder can't be happy without Tom or keep him as she (mis)behaves. Roelien agonizes over taking another pregnancy test, but may find happiness with Evert's offspring. Claire finally swallows her pride to be with Dirk and make up with her pregnant daughter Merel.
