Nozomu tries to hang himself, but is prevented from doing so by an overbearingly cheerful young girl named Kafuka. He tries to escape from her, but learns she is his student.

Nozomu tries to get the reclusive Kiri Kimori out of her house. Later, he tries to stop the stalker Matoi Tsunetsuki from bothering her new boyfriend.

A new student, foreigner Kaere Kimura, arrives in class and immediately starts harassing Nozomu. Meanwhile, Miss Arai discovers an illegal immigrant, Maria Taro Sekiutsu.

Nozomu investigates why Abiru Kobushi is always bandaged and injured. He later deals with Meru Otonashi, a mute girl who communicates through e-mail.

Nozomu tries to judge the social worth of his students, but ends up going on a wasteful binge before another suicide attempt. Later, he visits a hot spring and discovers it can make the girls normal.

Nozomu heads to his hometown for an arranged marriage ceremony. The girls rush there, each having in mind becoming Nozomu's wife.

Harumi explains to Nozomu about her writing. Later, everyone attends a matsuri festival and it gets out of control.

Kagero Usui never gets any attention.

Nozomu instructs his students to find mistakes in their lives, but Kafuka points out that some mistakes made were correct. He later meets his nephew Majiru.

Nozomu decides to stay out of a cultural festival, believing it's not fit for good people. Later, he tales Class 2-He on a field trip.

The girls watch a bad film, and discover the director avoiding responsibility. Later, Nozomu tries hibernation but it goes wrong and he ends up getting hit by a tram.

Nozomu must deal with Ai Kaga, a girl who keeps taking blame for others' crimes, and Mayo Mitama, a mean girl who always gets away with her deeds.
