As Kenzo searches Saburo's apartment for clues to his brother's whereabouts, he comes face to face with an assassin who gives him a message from the mob boss Mr Abbot - go home or go to the morgue. But Kenzo is reluctant to leave London without Yuto, and after news from Tokyo that the body count is rising, he realizes he has to find his brother before the gang war gets out of control. Besides, he has also begun to form other, more personal, attachments in the English capital.

Kenzo is finally reunited with Yuto, and while he gets some answers, any hopes of a reconciliation are dashed when he finds himself back at square one, still chasing after his brother and mystified by his anger. A surprise visitor from Tokyo lifts the detective's spirits, although he still has the threat of crime boss Abbot's threat hanging over his head. However, during an evening of confessions with Sarah, both question whether Yuto is the only reason he has not returned home yet.

An ambush on a Soho restaurant ends with the Mori brothers on the opposite sides of a frantic gun battle - and prompts a series of flashbacks in which Yuto relives the split-second decisions that brought him and Kenzo to this point. Fourteen months ago, Yuto realised he was destined to always be bad when Yakuza boss, Fukuhara, dispatched his best man, Jiro, to recruit him. But he also realized that unlike his brother, Fukuhara believed in him.

In the aftermath of the gunfight, Kenzo learns that Yuto's shrapnel-ridden body has been taken to Sarah's flat, so he, Vickers and Donna rush there and attempt makeshift surgery in order to save his brother's life. But also under the knife is Fukuhara in Tokyo, his bullet wounds threatening to crumble the very foundations of the Yakuza peace treaty.

As the emotional impact of Hotaka's death takes its toll, the Mori brothers decide to set aside their conflict and let honour prevail. They take Sarah, Taki, and Rodney to the beach and hold a makeshift vigil in his memory. Whilst there, Yuto is presented with the opportunity to run - but will he betray his brother for a shot at freedom? Rodney is still denying his feelings of guilt over Tiff's death, choosing instead to displace them with an ever-stronger cocktail of drugs and alcohol. It isn't until Rodney smokes some of Tiff's crack and Sarah notices his decline, ...
