When a colleague is abducted by an international spy ring, Michael Powers takes a desperate gamble to free him.

In order to write a truly authentic story of an escape from behind the Iron Curtain, Powers decides to travel to such a country and attempt to escape himself.

The police are baffled by a series of murders which have no apparently cause or connection. Powers is convinced that the crimes have been ordered by a crime syndicate and sets off after the killer.

Powers investigates smuggling and disappearance of fellow agent.

While attending a house party, Powers becomes aware that foreign spies are extremely interested in the test flight of a new jet fighter.

The police have an air-tight case against a hired killer, but become concerned when the murderer encourages them to set an early trial date.

While riding on a train, a passenger strikes up a conversation with Powers, then suddenly gives him a package and leaps out the compartment window. The correspondent soon discovers that the package contains secret plans for an new jet aircraft and foreign spies are combing the train searching for the documents.

Powers joins the search for a wanted Nazi war criminal.
