Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids

When the gang is sent to a new school due to integrated busing, they have a hard time being accepted by their new classmates because of their race.

The gang laughs off a teen-aged amateur boxer's interest in ballet as a "sissy" interest, and figure their friend will be in for a beating by the city's top boxer in a tournament. But the young boy has a few tricks up his sleeve, and his interest in ballet plays a key role.

Fat Albert inadvertently sees bruises on his girlfriend Patrice's body and realizes she may be suffering abuse at her mother's hands. Albert urges Patrice to get help before her mother injures her more seriously.

The gang's ice-skating friend, Roberta, is deeply troubled by her parents' imminent divorce. It's up to Fat Albert and Roberta's school counselor to help her realize that the divorce isn't her fault and that -- because her parents will have joint custody -- she can still love and spend time with both her mother and father.

Fat Albert helps mediate a bitterly partisan school election, where two candidates running for president -- one white and the other black -- play the race card during the campaign.

A young boy named Dennis, who has a mild form of autism, teaches the gang that he can rise above his disability with plenty of abilities of his own, using the school art show as his showcase.

The gang and their skateboarding friend Lawanda get a scary lesson in hitchhiking.

Rudy's friend, Dustin, gives the gang the wrong information on sex education when he gives them pornographic magazines and shows them dirty movies. Rudy's mother intervenes and points the boys in the right direction.
