Off-screen host Joey offers seven begrudging elders a sampling of unwrapped butterscotch candies. In attempt to emulate the "React" format, Joey urges the elders to provide their reaction. When the elders don't understand the nature of the show, Joey's temper is tested.

Joey tries to demonstrate for the elders a secret handshakes he does with all his friends. After Joey instructs the elders to use their left hands while Joey uses his right, and the elders struggle to keep up with Joey's bizarre handshake, it becomes clear that Joey doesn't have many friends.

Joey brings out an N64 console and a copy of NFL Blitz 2000 to dominate the elders. When few manage to make it past the team-selection screen, Joey's patience is tested. Joan tries to remember another video game her son played, and Russell turns the tables on Joey.

Joey shows the elders his first submission to the "React" genre. Looking for praise, Joey stirs up some consternation in the elders. Where did Joey find these kids? What is he doing to those poor children? Esther recognizes a familiar face.

Joey shows the elders to the bold brink of technology, where machines spin and whir and the old and the analog fall by the wayside. One by one, the elders come face to face with the vacuum, trying to make sense of an ever-changing world. An audacious thesis on modernity, Joey's "Elders React to the Vacuum," is one webisode sure to stand the test of time.

Joey shows the elders a recording from karaoke night. As they try to make sense of the garbled audio clip, he approaches them, a broken man. He asks for their advice, seeing as they had probably been in that dark place before. Joeys asks the elders, "How do I pick up the pieces?"

Joey warns the elders about the rising threat of identity theft while Val accuses him of stealing her cigarettes. After they fail to understand his teachings, Joey returns Val's cigarettes before offering the elders a practical demonstration of identity theft.

In this award-winning episode of Elders React, Joey breaks some difficult news to the elders. There comes a time for every elder when they need to re-evaluate their driving abilities. Joey has done this for them, and reported them to the DMV to have their licenses suspended.
