Nataniël arrives in Nantes. He and his brother, Erik, decide to transform a 200-year-old farmhouse into a holiday home. They tell the story of their forefathers and prepare meals in a forest.

Just outside Nantes, Nataniël and Erik's free-standing-kitchen is now equipped with 2 tables, a flame and a hob. And that's all. Under almost the same circumstances than those of the 17th century French Huguenots, the cooking commences.

Nataniël and Erik drive through Nantes and its surrounding towns and visit all the unique landmarks. Back at the farm, Nataniël bakes the official Nantes Rumcake and Erik prepares a local fish dish.

Inspired by the renovations in the farm kitchen, Nataniël and Erik decide to plant a herb garden. They prepare country recipes and demonstrate how a bit of imagination can transform any dish into food fit for a king.

The brothers buy furniture for the dining room and they visit a typical cheese shop in the centre of Nantes. They use various cheeses in traditional regional dishes, as well as in their own brand new creations.

Apples can be used in countless ways. It is one of Nantes' most famous products and has been a favourite in Nataniël's kitchen for years. Nataniël and Erik go bananas with apples: from food to art.

On the top floor of Nantes' highest building is Le Nid, a bar where guests can sit and relax in life-size eggs. After visiting this strange place, Nataniël and Erik create unique meals and snacks with the earth's most versatile ingredient.

Because Nantes is packed with fantastic bakeries and specialty stores, people seldom bake at home. Nataniël and Erik use a variety of traditional breads and cakes to conjure up exciting new dishes.

Nataniël plans a surprise party for his brother's birthday. He prepares a few dishes in his apartment in the city centre, shops at a local gallery and unexpectedly bumps into his hero, a famous French artist.

Nantes is a city filled with carousels and art projects that captivate children's imaginations. Nataniël is the godfather of Erik's two daughters and the two of them prepare colourful dishes that no child or adult will be able to refuse.

Nowadays, thousands of families are spread across the world. In Nantes, Christmas is celebrated whenever Nataniël is visiting. A delicious, easy meal is prepared and a festive table is set.

Not everyone likes to start the New Year with a boisterous affair and therefore Nataniël and Erik cook for the family on the farm. A feast is planned with light and tasty dishes that are easy to prepare in advance.

With a Chocolatier on every street corner, no house in Nantes is ever without chocolate. In the final episode, Nataniël and Erik bid their farewells as they pay tribute to this most decadent of ingredients.
