A man is arrested for the murder of his son and Dundee agrees to argue the father's innocence. An outlaw threatens to destroy the town unless a guilty verdict is the trial's result.

Dundee takes a case where he defends Maximus Tobin, a mine owner accused in the death of several of his employees. The proceedings take place underground where Dundee, once trapped in a cave in, must face his worst fear.

Is the widow of a man killed in a duel trying to win a lawsuit through fraud? As Dundee defends his client, he encounters red herrings and strange twists in the case.

Culhane's Irish friend Jeremiah is to arrive however Dundee is needed to defend him for murder when he does. While Jeremiah was playing poker a disagreement turned into a killing.
