Deuk Cheon, a homicide detective, is on the verge of catching Sung Joon whom he thinks is the kidnapper of his daughter. Deuk Cheon does his best to find the culprit, but ends up meeting two culprits who look exactly the same.

When Prosecutor Choi Jo Hye takes over Soo Yeon's case, Deuk Cheon has very little time to get a confession out of the man the police were able to find who claims not to remember anything.

Deuk Cheon and Sung Joon escape from the police and make their way to Busan. Sung Joon tries to find the homeless guy who gave him the ticket to Seoul. Meanwhile, Prosecutor Choi decides to conduct the investigation in secret.

Deuk Cheon, Prosecutor Choi, and Mi Rae all begin to search for Choi Joo Shik and get pulled into the world of illegal dogfights.

Deuk Cheon and Sung Joon gain unlikely allies. Mi Rae tries to figure out if Sung Joon knew her mother.

Deuk Cheon is forced to allow Sung Joon to be hospitalized after an attack. Prosecutor Choi and her team research the murder victims.

In exchange for finally seeing Soo Yeon, Deuk Cheon agrees to commit murder. Mi Rae theorizes about who Sung Joon is.
