Em and her best friend Doll as they navigate their friendship once Em hires Doll to be her assistant.

At a party for the cast of Em's film, Doll gets a bitter taste of life as an assistant.

The tears won't come for Em during an emotional funeral scene, but Doll, as an extra, shows she can cry with the best of them. In between takes, Doll makes friends with John Cusack, but hurts her foot while getting coffee.

Following Doll's accident, Em plays the role of star and assistant, but when things get too much and Em's acting performance suffers, Doll gets the blame.

Doll turns down an assistant job to read for an acting role that Em covets.

In the Season 1 finale, Em goes back to London to spend the holidays with her family, but she also runs into Doll, who's been working as a waitress since she didn't get the acting job she wanted. Later, Em goes to see Doll perform in "The Tempest," and hopes it will lead to reconciliation.
