After years on a journey through the Middle East, Salvador Pereyra returns to Mexico with a discovery that could change the world: the tomb of Marduk, creator of the concept of God, of writing and human spirituality.

Salvador discovers that Askar Hyrum is a publisher to whom he had delivered a draft of his book 10 years ago. Dante is being threatened by Erik, a gangster to whom he owes money.

David agrees to give to Salvador and Dante all of the dirt that his husband had a dug up on Askar.

After Salvador and Isabel nearly get killed at the hands of the Sons of Indra, Salvador considers abandoning his fight against Askar and trying to recover his former life.

Maria Elena, a woman from the community of the Sons of Indra who has lost her son, turns to Salvador for help finding him. Moved by the woman's loss, Salvador uses all means at his disposal to help her.

Faced with the success of Salvador and his group, Askar becomes desperate and tightens his control over the community of Indra, cutting all ties to the outside world.

Just as Salvador and his people are about to receive the registration as a religion, Askar unleashes a masterstroke that not only thwarts their plans but also ends up putting Salvador and David behind bars.

The Sons of Indra obtain their registration as an official religion and it looks as though all is lost for Salvador and David.

Salvador and others hide out with Dante in the basement he used for underground meetings and they begin to work out a strategy to expose the truth about Askar and rescue Areta.

The assault on Askar's finances is a success but Salvador and his group will pay a high price for it.

Salvador negotiates with Askar's former allies in the government and works out a deal. However, the operation will be a failure.

With the elimination of the threat of Askar and his closest followers, Salvador and Dante might feel victorious but the reality is that Salvador feels he has lost his daughter forever.
