Did You See..? begins with Ludovic Kennedy discussing TV with a novelist, a theatre critic and a prison governor. There's also an interview with Robert Banks Stewart, and, for the first series only, a viewer quiz presented by Sue Peacock.

Ludovic talks with Graham Chapman, Godfrey Hodgson and Lord Chalfont about programmes including M.A.S.H. and The Next President. There's also another quiz for viewers, and a discussion on satire with Chapman.

Dr Bernard Dixon, Roger Elliot and Marina Vaizey look back over the week's television. There's also an interview with writer John McGrath, discussing his use of non-naturalistic form in recent episodes of Play For Today.

Novelist P.D. James, critic Tom Hutchinson and MP David Ennals talk about TV, while producer Rex Bloomstein discusses his documentary "Strangeways". And in the week where Grace Jones hit Russell Harty, the quiz is about unexpected harm.

Along with programme reviews and an interview with critic Jack Tinker, this edition marks the final appearance of co-presenter Sue Peacock. Due to Christmas approaching, Sue discards her usual quiz in favour of a look through the archives.

As the series enters a new year, it streamlines events by discarding the viewer quiz. Instead, Ludovic Kennedy talks television with two journalists and a playwright, and discusses a Malcolm Bradbury adaptation with Christopher Hampton.
