After the death of her husband, Pepa Carranza discovers that he has left her and her family with a EUR400,000 debt. Their rival family plans to take advantage of this to buy out the headquarters of the Carranzas' arts academy in Vicálvaro.

Pepa sends Raúl and Iván to sell Carlos Alberto's alliance while the family plans how to pay off the debts. Meanwhile, Doña Consuelo promises to gift Rocío a family choker, while she plans how to finish off the Carranzas.

Despite being invited to the inauguration of Consuelo's statue, Pepa forbids the rest of the family from interacting with the De La Vegas, unaware of the romantic ordeals some of the Carranzas have with members of the De La Vegas.

With only 15 days left to pay off the debt, Iván, with the help of Javi, decides to steal a Kandisky painting from the de la Vegas that the family is going to receive from a Russian businessman.

Doña Consuelo discovers that Rocío had helped cover for Iván during his theft of the Kandinsky. Iván and Javi try to sell the painting in order to raise money for the debt, but Raúl's stupidity threatens to ruin their plans.

When Pepa reunites with Antonio Resines, a series of misunderstandings leads Raúl to think that he could be his biological father. Rocío tries to get her and Iván's incriminating photos back, only to fall onto Consuelo's trap.

With only 24 hours to pay off half of the debt, Iván enlists Javi, Raúl and an old prison inmate to rob a back. Menwhile, Julieta opens an erotic online channel with Jimmy's help after revealing her real identity to Esteban.

Doña Consuelo comes to terms with the fact that she no longer has the control of her family like she used to. The Carranzas consider the Academy to be a lost cause and prepare to start over, but things go south when Raúl is somehow cursed.

The Carranzas remain stranded in how to get the money for their debts, until they receive a visit from a family member who can help them. After the pool incident, Doña Consuelo fires Andrei and replaces him with an Italian gangster.

After the dark truth about how Carmina got the money for the Carranzas' debts is revealed, the Carranzas see themselves back to square one. The truce between the Carranzas and the de la Vegas over Javier and Sara's child doesn't last long.

The Carranzas decide to kidnap Doña Consuelo's cat in order to pay for the debt, but are faced with further trouble when one of Iván's old cellmates find them. Fed up with her family's uselessness, Doña Consuelo decides to run for mayor.

While Iván and Fani plan a heist to make the family rich, Pepa and Lucía come up with a plan of their own. Meanwhile, Doña Consuelo gets a visit that reveals why the de la Vegas are so interested in the Carranzas' academy.

The Carranzas try to solve their debts once and for all by stealing the corpse of Doña Consuelo's husband. It is discovered that a treasure that the de la Vegas were looking for for years is located at the academy.
