The Atlantic salmon lives a fascinating live. Hatched in its home river, setting out to sea and returning to its home pool to spawn. But the salmon has many threats and only a few survives this journey.

During the storm Nina in January 2015 thousands of farmed salmon escaped. Kenneth tries to figure out why this is a problem, and why the scientist has categorized escaped farmed salmon as the biggest threat to the wild salmon.

Sea lice has ben categorized as the second largest threat to the wild salmon. Why is this parasite such a treat, and why has the parasite increased in big numbers?

Volunteers keep working hard to preserve the Norwegian salmon. At the same time the threats increase. Will we be able to preserve the wild salmon or is it to late?
