Debby and her friend Sara ride on bicycles, and are hit by a car. Sara suffers only minor injuries, but Debby's leg has been broken and she must stay in the hospital. Debby is very depressed, until she meets Avi, young boy whose condition is much worse than her, but maintains optimistic attitude.

Recently there has been an alarmingly large number of cases of food poisoning, whose cause is so far unknown. Debby, while chatting with a patient named Popsy, discovers the source of the disease.

Debby meets a patient named Zeev, whose eyes were hurt in a car accident. When Zeev describes the accident, Debby becomes upset because he is the driver who hit her.

Eli and Uri go to swim in a lake. Unknown to them, their lives are in danger because the lake is severely polluted. In the hospital, they discuss the dangers of pollution with Debby and Mike, and decide to act for environmental protection.

Rena has recovered from anemia, but she is deeply sad and depressed. Debby and her friends Roni and Yael cheer Rena up, by playing the fable of Jack and the Beanstalk.

Debby meets two kids at the emergency ward, Danny and Sharon. Debby talks with the kids, and they tell what brought them there: Danny unintentionally hit his brother Rami's eye while playing with a slingshot; Sharon and her cousin Arik were on a trip in an old fortress, and he fell into a dig and hurt his leg. While the kids are anxiously waiting, Rami and Arik are given medical treatment in the emergency room.
