While investigating a castle, Doctor Hongo is attacked by soldiers of Deathdark, but is saved by a hiker named Kenichi Akama, immediatly after the attack Doctor Hongo contacts with the "Future Science Institute" to start the selection of the members of the "Great Squadron Goggle V" to fight against the evil forces of deathdark.

After learning about their new duties of protecting the earth against the forces of Deathdark, Goggle V are sent to investigate if Deathdark is causing any trouble.

Kenichi Akama goes to meet with his old rock-climbing partner, Yusuke Kaji, everything goes fine until Deathdark appears causing an earhquake that separates them leaving Kenichi with yusuke's sister.
