Reinaldo returns with bad news from the doctor. He also learns his business partner, Armando Malavé bought all his shares in their music company. Reinaldo's big family faces poverty. His brother, Luis Guillermo is preparing for his wedding with Armando's daughter, Daniela. Inés lives with the family and is in love with Luis Guillermo. Armando's wife, Flavia goes to confession. Luis Gillermo is devastated after Daniela dumps him with a note on their wedding day. He gets drunk and takes it out on Inés. Reinaldo announces to the family their bankruptcy. Flavia confesses to Armando the existence of their daughter. Marisela returns to Diego Andrés his wallet. Michelle makes a scandal when she observes Diego Andrés comforting Marisela. Fefa passes away.

Luis Guillermo wants Inés gone and drowns himself in self pity and alcohol. Reinaldo proposes to Inés in order to cement her authority. Marisela buries Fefa and later moves in the Núñez' house. Some of them threat her as a maid. Michelle is furious and jealous with Diego Andrés because of Marisela. Armando wants to divorce Flavia after hearing her secret. Bertha is happy.

Luis Guillermo and Diego Andrés are injured after a fight and end up in the hospital. Marisela left the house but rejoins the family after learning of the incident. The Núñez family is grief stricken over the death of Reinaldo. On the day of the funeral Emperatriz appears mumbling something. Chela is also there to blackmail Inés. Unfortunately Daniela buys from Chela the photo of Inés and Reinaldo. But she couldn't see it because the photo falls into the hands of Emperatriz. Marisela makes a confession to Padre Darío. Luis Guillermo is certain of his feelings for Inés and proposes to her.

Luis Guillermo pursues Inés. Daniela begs Emperatriz to give the other part of the torn photo. Marisela is wrongly accused of jewelry theft by Victoria. Michelle is delighted. Armando locks Daniela in her room, but Flavia comes to the rescue. Robert is very curious to learn what Daniela holds over the Núñez family.

Marisela is arrested. Diego Andrés is by her side all the time. Michelle and Victoria's shopping is ruined after Armando canceled Michelle's credit card. Daniela sends the wedding photo of Reinaldo and Inés to Luis Guillermo via fax. Luckily it falls into Inés's hands. Sonia bumps into Marisela and Diego Andrés at the police station. Armando has a mistress but he dines with Bertha at the club. Suddenly Flavia appears and resurrects Armando's feelings. It's the reading of Reinaldo's will that finally confirms the Núñez' bankruptcy. Everyone also learns that Inés is his widow. Luis Guillermo is devastated. Michelle ceases the opportunity to throw out Marisela. Juan Carlos is amazed that Gabriela is poor. Daniela accidentally hits Marisela with her car and is ready to flee the scene, when a young and honest man, Alfredo José holds her responsible. Daniela phones Flavia for help. Diego Andrés can't find Marisela and immediately suspects Michelle is behind the disappearance.

Inés packs her things and moves in with Martica. Flavia saves Marisela's life by donating blood. Luis Guillermo shares with Daniela the bankruptcy news. Diego Andrés searches everywhere for Marisela and finally finds her in the hospital. Robert catches Armando and Solbela. Gabriela suffers Juan Carlos' neglect. Luis Guillermo is in love with Inés but has had it and moves out. Daniela poisons Robert's mind against Inés' virtue. Marisela secretly brings food to Emperatriz in the basement. Flavia almost unravels Armando's mistress when he comes to Solbela. Diego Andrés wants to report Armando for assaulting Marisela. Inés gladly agrees to give blood to save Emperatriz. Reinaldo and Walter secretly kidnap Armando and Solbela.

The police seeks Armando after his assault on Marisela. Reinaldo visits Jennifer at the hospital and also bonds with Aldo. Michelle and Daniela are furious with Flavia because of the police report. Diego Andrés declares his love for Marisela again and promises to divorce Michelle. Bertha is arrested. Luis Guillermo finally understands who is Inés' true love and her relationship with Reinaldo.

The Malavé family is puzzled where is Armando. Luis Guillermo has a fight with his supervisor. Pierre defends him. Flavia thinks Armando ran away with his mistress. Jennifer is cured. Emperatriz escapes from the hospital and goes to the Núñez' house. Marisela has a nightmare and shares it at therapy.

Robert takes control after Armando's disappearance. He proposes new job to Inés at the record company. Victoria loses all will to live and rejects everyone.
