Two journalists set out to get the definitive story of infamous serial killer Ted Bundy, as told by the man himself.

Investigators in Washington struggle to solve the series of brutal murders despite witnesses hearing the suspect identify himself as 'Ted'. Later, after Bundy travels to Utah, a young woman manages to the escape from his clutches. Ending up in a Utah prison, he is soon suspected of murders in Colorado.

Ted Bundy escapes from a courthouse in Colorado by jumping out of a second floor window. He is arrested and jailed again, but makes an escape through the roof of his prison cell. He then heads to Florida where he unleashes a horrific wave of violence.

Conversations with a Killer looks at the lurid double-murder trial of Ted Bundy in Florida and how it turns into a circus due to Bundy's erratic behavior and the sensationalist press eager for a story. After he is found guilty, Bundy makes a last ditch unsuccessful effort to avoid the electric chair.
