Captain Richard Gillett risks his boat and crew to reach the rich crab grounds before his competition. Conway Caines runs into Murphy's Law, with everything from sharks to disappearing capelin setting them back. A rogue wave snaps Captain Paul Tiller's stabilizer in half and destroys his hopes for a strong start out of the gate.

Richard's hunger forces him to take a gamble that puts his entire season and livelihood of his crew at risk. Paul has a friendly bet going with his "buddy boat". Skipper Justin Bridger struggles to find a balance between being the boss and maintaining friendships with his crew of childhood pals.

An idealistic day of fishing takes a devastating turn for Richard when his tow skiff suddenly capsizes and becomes fully submerged under the boat. Broke and desperate, the urgency to bank a huge haul of capelin forces Conway into troubled waters. Paul's entire crew is put to the ultimate test when a sudden storm surrounds them in the middle of the ocean.

Richard's capelin season is here, but with his 12-year-old son on board and struggling with seasickness, concentrating on work is no simple task. For the first time Conway skippers the Sea Doo while his father is out with a back injury. In an effort to be the first to the find the shrimp Justin takes his crew into dangerous weather, putting his entire season at risk.

Needing to make up for a terrible season, Richard has no choice but to rule with an iron fist in an effort to bring his crewmates home a paycheck. While hunting turbot, Conway's boat suffers severe damage and hangs by a thread. After a full on fistfight breaks out on the deck, Justin is forced to take drastic measures.

It's the beginning of mackerel season and all our fishermen want a piece of the action. Richard hunts hard but his crew come up against one snafu after another. Conway races home to get his seining gear on board. Skipper Donald Spence has just bought a new boat, and he's under enormous pressure to make a big payday off the mackerel fishery.

Fearful of losing his veteran crew, Richard has decided to take the biggest gamble of his career and head 200 nautical miles north to Labrador in search of mackerel. Desperate to find fish, Conway and his dad ignore a gale-force storm warning and finds themselves fighting for their lives. Justin's leadership is tested when a series of mechanical disasters puts his crew's lives in jeopardy.

Donald races to Bonne Bay where reports of the biggest catches in memory are drawing in every boat in the region. Conway and his dad face off on how to hunt the herring. Rough seas knock out the autopilot and threaten to capsize Richard's boat.

Conway needs to survive a series of screw-ups and get some fish. Donald is out for mackerel to pay off his boat, but his rival Todd Young has the advantage of a fishing boat the size of a cruise ship. Richard's shorthanded crew will have to use every trick in the book if they hope to catch 100,000 pounds of herring.

Herring hotshot Richard Gillett is determined to pay off his boat, but first he has to out-smart and out-fish the competition. Conway has a mega haul of mackerel in his sights. Todd gets a massive order for half a million pounds of mackerel, but the fish are nowhere in sight.
