Flint and Sam remember the time they met and how they almost destroyed their town trying to out-nerd each other.

When Flint destroys Princess Kittymittens -Sam's treasured toy- he decides to let Sam choose one of his treasured things and let her destroy it to make it up to her.

While Flint fails as an inventor, his father Tim invents a Gum Pencil, gaining a reputation as the finest inventor in town, much to Flint's chagrin.

When Sam reveals how much she hates sardines, the town's number one product, Flint decides to invent sardines that taste like bacon.

Flint creates a robot capable of taking out the garbage, however, the robot decides that everyone is garbage and starts to get rid of every person in town.

Swallow Falls prepares to celebrate the birthday of its oldest sardine, a wish-granting fish named Johnny, but Flint and Sam put the entire event in jeopardy.

When Steve wins the Swallow Falls lottery townspeople line up claiming that they are Steve's best friend causing Flint to question Steve's true affections.

Flint asks Sam to train him for the annual father/son horseshoe contest, which uncovers Sam's troubled past with the sport.
