In 1981, Christine Schultz was murdered in her own home with her tow children watching, and the police's main suspect was Laurie Bembenek, Schultz's ex-husband's new wife.

In 1996, Terri Hotchkiss called 911 because she had shot an intruder in her home. The intruder was her ex-husband Gene Gilbert, and Hotchkiss's plea of self-defense was questionable.

In 1992, Sara Ambrusko was held hostage by a man in her home with her two children and forced to drive the man and the children into the night. Ambrusko wrecked the car and was shot, and her husband Fred Tokars was the main suspect when his secret life was revealed.
