There's something wrong with Girl and Boy. Girl's violent awakening starts one day, when her obsession with true crime deepens. A feeling of ecstasy surrounding murder and blood takes over her and she has no intention to stop it. On the other hand, Boy is struggling with his own inner demons. There's a need to lash and act out, yet he manages to keep things under the surface. Girl thinks it's crucial to embrace her innate dark tendencies as they represent her true self. Unlike Boy, she's aware that repressing them will only cause her more frustration and pain.

Girl meets with her mother who suspects a dangerous change within her is occurring when she notices signs of self-harm and psychological withdrawal. Girl dismisses her concerns, reassuring her that everything is fine. Girl pushes Boy to ask one of his colleagues out as part of a scheme involving a kidnapping and murder. Boy obeys then regrets the crime. Girl firmly states the importance of listening and acting on their urges. Boy tries to take Girl's advice and stalks a park-goer with the intention to attack the individual, but he's unable to carry through with this ...

Months after being abruptly ghosted by Boy, Girl bonds with Girl 2 over their nefarious fantasies surrounding murder and a vampire fetish. Boy 2 and Girl 2 then blindside Girl with their intention on committing a school shooting which she strongly disagrees with. In order to put a stop to it, Girl informs their cult leader, Priestess, who highlights the importance of committing violence within the framework she created. Boy 2 and Girl 2 turn on Girl for snitching on them and a short altercation ensues. Their school shooting plan remains secretly in motion.

Priestess shows gratitude for Girl's trust and inquires about her relationship with Boy whom she was considering as a new member for her cult. Girl informs her about the sudden break-up and Boy's inability to embrace his dark nature then proceeds in harming herself in Priestess' bathroom while she deals with one of the cult members's drug transaction urging him to flee the scene. Girl's psychological downfall starts as she abuses both drugs and alcohol. Girl 2 interferes and pushes her to snap out of it before taking her on a car ride to enhance her high. Boy 2 shows ...

Boy expresses his loneliness to Other Girl who urges him to stay strong amidst Girl 2's disappearance. Priestess is confronted by a woman whose son is part of the cult. Priestess refuses to let him go, pointing out he came to her willingly after being ostracized by his own family for his criminal tendencies. It's revealed that Girl 2 has abandoned her life in Chicago and moved far away to a place more exotic.

Nine months later, Girl 2 has started a new life in Los Angeles, hiding away in an abandoned house in the valley. Her sanctuary is soon threatened by two boys from her past; Boy 3 and Other Boy 2 who break into her house and attack her. Helpless and tied to a chair, she's interrogated about money the boys lost after they were sent to prison. Since she left town upon mysterious circumstances, she seems to be their only suspect. Girl 2 reminds them how loyal she was to them in the past and tells them to investigate the other girls they've been with before their arrest. ...
