In the pilot episode of "Broke AF" Joey has found himself enjoying the lifestyle of unemployment until reality hits him that it will soon run out. Joey must find opportunity fast in a city where opportunity is far and few in between.

Felix, the roommate of Joey, has been offered a contract to play with the majors. Life seems to be going in the right direction for him until one night that changes everything, that could've been avoided.

Anna is a fish out of water living in the big city, but still cannot let go of the fact that she has to take care of her family living in rural IL.

Alister is vying for the VP role of his father's company, but it's his inhibitions and impulse that continues to be his own internal struggle.

Janet shows that even though she is savvy with her street smarts, it is her heart that continues to drain her financially.

As her family is taking off to Japan to support her little sisters' music tour, Valentina expresses grievances of the family negating her needs.
