Prior to entering the Ninja Academy, Boruto Uzumaki, the son of Naruto Uzumaki, meets a bullied boy named Denki Kaminarimon, who is being forced to join the academy for the sake of his father's company.

After having been suspended for two weeks for the trouble he caused at the entrance ceremony, Boruto finally begins his days attending the academy.

Metal Lee is a hard working boy who is talented at taijutsu, but he easily comes under pressure and gets very nervous when others are watching him, which cause him to make mistakes. After Shikadai harshly comments on this, Metal Lee becomes enraged and a fight ensues. Boruto, however, notices that the same phenomenon that happened with Denki is now happening to Metal.

Tensions begin to rise between the boys and girls in class. During a lunch break, when Boruto and Sarada start antagonizing one another, Shino intervenes and suggests that things be settled with a capture the flag mission.

Boruto and his classmates welcome a new student Mitsuki from the hidden sound village.

Chocho believes that she has a stalker following her. When the culprit is revealed, it turns out to be to be a schoolmate who actually has his eyes set on somebody else.

Boruto has a dream one night of a mysterious man telling him that his special eye power will be the key to fending off great destruction. After this dream, Boruto is convinced he has awakened the Byakugan. However, Naruto and Hinata are not so sure.

Boruto takes on his aunt Hanabi in a fighting match to prove he has awakened the Byakugan. After the match, Hanabi unfortunately declares that there is no sign of the Byakugan being active in him.

Boruto's class is having a lesson about workplace experience and are able to learn about any job in the village. Boruto, Mitsuki, and Shikadai choose postal service as an excuse to search the village for the "ghost" that has been possessing people.

Naruto warns Boruto to stop investigating the dilemma involving the "ghost" as the situation is starting to grow more dangerous. However, Boruto refuses to stand idly by as this threat continues to bring harm to his friends.

A glimpse of Mitsuki past is shown. The Academy students take a training course with a three-man team. Mitsuki visits Sumire in the hospital she's staying at.

Mitsuki reveals to Boruto the culprit behind the ghost attacks. When a giant monster, the Nue, suddenly appears, Mitsuki tells Boruto that the culprit needs to eliminated. Boruto insists on stopping him, now knowing the culprit is a friend.

After being sucked into Nue's dimension, Boruto and Mitsuki fight off the monster and try to stop Sumire.

With the ghost dilemma resolved, everything in the village seems to go back to normal. But Boruto and his class wonder what has become of Sumire since she has yet to return to the academy.

Denki is worried to fail the Ninjutsu test and become a repeater. Iwabe, the repeater student, overhear him. Iwabee is also worried about failing Arithmetic.

Sarada offers to run an errand for her mother, Sakura, who is going on a trip. Sarada needs to return a stuffed toy to a girl at a hospital and takes the train to get there. When she accidentally leaves it on the train, trouble ensues.

When Himawari comes down with a fever, Boruto is reminded of the day of Naruto's inauguration as the 7th Hokage where something strange happened to her. Later, Naruto tries to bond with Boruto by going out to eat at Ichiraku Ramen.

Sarada starts to become very envious of her peers because they are able to spend time with their fathers, whereas she has no recollection of her father, Sasuke, at all. After she interrogates Sakura of her relationship with Sasuke, Sarada finds an old photo of him with a group of people, among which is a girl with glasses. After seeing this girl, Sarada begins to question her relationship with Sakura.

Sasuke encounters a strange boy that possesses the Sharingan. After being alerted of this situation, Naruto intends to meet up with Sasuke to investigate. When Sarada overhears this, she plans on following Naruto to finally meet her father.

After Sarada is nearly attacked by Sasuke, she is upset with her father for not recognizing her and for not answering her questions. After Sarada runs off, Naruto tries to comfort her, but they are attacked by Shin and a mysterious man.

After Sakura is kidnapped by Shin, Naruto is unable to locate her, which makes Sarada worried. To find Shin, the group decides to head to the person he may have a connection to: Orochimaru.

After deciding she wants to be the one to save her mother, Sarada and the others hurry to Shin's hideout to find Sakura.

The Leaf Village becomes excited with the arrival of the other Kage for the Five Kage Summit. Boruto takes this opportunity to graffiti the Hokage Stone Faces. Meanwhile, Sarada begins to practice using her Sharingan.

The Academy has its very first field trip outside of the Land of Fire and Boruto and the rest of his class head to the Hidden Mist Village in the Land of Water.

The Leaf Academy students meet with the Mizukage and tour the Hidden Mist's ninja academy, where Boruto is offered an opportunity to spar with Kagura.

After Tsurushi Hachiya and his gang kidnap Denki, Boruto and his friends, along with Kagura, go to save him and end up going to battle. During the battle, secrets about Kagura are revealed.

Shizuma Hoshigaki appears before Boruto and Kagura with the desire to enlist Kagura in his cause to start a revolution and wage war against the peaceful shinobi order.

Boruto and Sarada accompany Chojuro to find Shizuma and his friends, including Kagura, who have declared themselves to be the new Seven Swordsmen of the Mist. Meanwhile, Mitsuki meets with Suigetsu.

After being separated from Boruto and Chojuro, Sarada engages in battle with the kunoichi Buntan Kurosuki, who wields the sword called the Lightning Blade, Kiba the Fang.

Boruto fights Kagura and tries to convince him to stop following Shizuma and return with him. When Boruto's words fail to change Kagura's mind, Mitsuki arrives and reveals the contents of the scroll he received.

After returning from the Hidden Mist Village, Boruto had forgotten about his promise to Himawari that he would bring her a souvenir. Boruto begins a search for an authentic Mst Village item so he doesn't upset her.

Inojin suddenly starts having trouble being able to perform his Super Beast Scroll jutsu and looks to his father for help. Sai makes a suggestion for Inojin to join an art competition to find out for himself what the problem is.

With the graduation exams coming soon, Boruto wants to create a memorable experience with all of his friends before they graduate by going on a camping trip.

The Academy students have parent-teacher conferences to discuss their futures as ninja. Boruto, despite having excellent skills, has never thought about his future as a shinobi. He meets Sukea, a journalist that notices his carefreeness.

The Academy students begin the graduation exams. After they pass the written exam with ease, the practical exam has the students taking on their sensei, as well as the sixth Hokage, Kakashi Hatake.

Boruto continues to fight Kakashi until he is immobilized by him. Kakashi proceeds to criticize Boruto's class, believing the students are not taking the idea of being ninja seriously enough, with Boruto's attitude to blame.

Now as genin, Boruto's classmates are sorted into their three-man squads. When it is decided that Boruto, Sarada, and Mitsuki will become a team, Sarada and Boruto wish to repeal the decision, not wanting to be together on the same team.

In the past, Mitsuki had once lost his memories. He goes on a mission with his parent, Orochimaru, to retrieve his memories. During the mission, he learns a truth about himself and needs to make a difficult decision.

Boruto, Sarada, and Mitsuki begin their first mission as the new Team 7.

Team 7's mission turns into a rescue mission to save the village head of Green Banks after she is kidnapped by rogue ninja.

Team 7 is assigned a mission to detain a man that has barricaded himself inside a bank.

A group of noble thieves known as the Byakuya Gang, commit a robbery in the Hidden Leaf Village. After gaining information on where they can find one of the thieves, Team 7 tries to detain them.

The Byakuya Gang's activities begin to increase in number. Some people revere them as heroes and others, like Boruto, as villains. But Shikadai's thoughts lie somewhere in-between. Amidst the turmoil, Shikadai again meets the boy, Ryogi.

The Byakuya Gang begin to stir up unrest by leading civilians to protest the Kaminarimon Company because of its wealth. Ryogi worries about his new friend Shikadai, but memories of his past push him forward with the Byakuya Gang's plans.

The protest against the Kaminarimon Company grows more intense and ninja of all ranks are called to control the crowd. Shikadai senses that the situation is similar to a game of shogi, and suspects the protest is being used as a decoy.

Boruto and Shikadai go after Ryogi and Gekko to stop them from stealing Katasuke's scroll.

After their suspension has ended, Team 5 is given a mission from the Hokage to take part in a documentary about genin for the Academy.

Team 15 is given a mission to capture animals that have escaped from a zoo. Hanabi Hyuga, their leader, believes that Sumire, Wasabi, and Namida can handle the mission by themselves, but Wasabi and Namida begin to bicker with each other.

With the Chunin Exams coming soon, Konohamaru, Udon, Moegi, and Shino discuss their genin teams and recap their past actions, contemplating if they would be able to handle the exams.

Team 7 is given a mission to apprehend a group of thieves that robbed from the Thunder Train. Boruto is in a foul mood throughout the mission due to Naruto missing his birthday party.

Upon finding a monstrous White Zetsu in the ruins, Konohamaru divulges information to Team 7 about Kaguya Otsutsuki, elaborating how dangerous their mission has potentially become.

The Chunin Exams are coming up and the applications have been handed out to the genin teams. Everyone is excited, except for Boruto, who has no interest in taking the exams. Later, the Uzumaki's celebrate Himawari's birthday.

Boruto meets Sasuke face to face for the very first time. Determined to get back at Naruto for breaking his promise, Boruto asks Sasuke to make him his student. Sasuke is willing to take Boruto on as his student, but on one condition.

Boruto begins to train under Sasuke. But as Boruto gets easily frustrated, he begins making use the scientific ninja tool to help with his training. Meanwhile, the Otsutsuki Clan begin their plan to find the Jinchuriki for their chakra.

Genin from different villages arrive at the Hidden Leaf Village for the Chunin Exams. Team 7 encounters several of these new arrivals. Shortly after, the first round of the Chunin Exams begins.

The second round of the Chunin Exam begins. For the second round, the genin teams must capture a rival team's flag without losing their own.

The time has come for the third and final round of the Chunin Exams. The final round will begin the elimination of the remaining genin by having them fight one on one battles to decide who will become chunin.

The match between Chocho and Shinki begins. Going up against a relentless opponent, Chocho gives it her all in the battle. Later, when the first elimination round concludes, the second round starts with Boruto and Shikadai's battle.

The second round of the elimination continues with Sarada and Mitsuki battling Araya and Shinki of the Sand Village.

The final battle of the Chunin Exams pits Boruto, Sarada, and Shinki in a battle royal to determine who will become the champion.

Just as Naruto disqualifies Boruto and takes his headband, the Otsutsuki Clan arrive to the arena and begin to attack, with Naruto as their prime target.

Boruto awakens to find out that Naruto has been taken by the Otsutsuki. When Boruto sees the destruction and the amount of innocent people injured due to the attack, he begins to understand his father's love and devotion to the village.

Boruto follows Sasuke and the Kage to the Otsutsuki Clan's dimension to rescue Naruto. When they arrive, they battle against Momoshiki and Kinshiki. On the battlefield, Boruto and Naruto begin to understand each other for the first time.

Momoshiki undergoes a transformation and becomes seemingly invincible. Boruto watches as Naruto and Sasuke begin to fight at full power, but the moment comes for Boruto to join in, and his actions will determine the fate of the battle.

Boruto goes around the village apologizing to everyone for cheating during the Chunin Exams. Though things have gone back to normal after the Otsutsuki Clan's attack, Momoshiki's last words still have him concerned.

Team 7 and Team 10 are tasked with a joint mission to be bodyguards for two actors that have received a death threat.

After Chocho is chosen to be a stand in for an injured actress, Tomaru, who is attracted to her skinny form, begins flirting with her. Chocho becomes love-struck and Sarada and the others begin to worry about her dramatic behavior.

Tomaru is kidnapped by the gas mask ninja during filming. The ninja demands a ransom to be paid in exchange for his safe return. Chocho worries about Tomaru, but Ashina decides to be the one to pay the ransom to get Tomaru back.

Metal is to be trained by Rock Lee to learn the taijutsu technique, The Eight Inner Gates. However, when Rock Lee sees his son wearing a necklace to ward off his anxiety, he calls off the training, leaving Metal to question why he did.

Boruto, Sarada, and Mitsuki look after The Third Tsuchikage, Ohnoki, after he refuses to attend the Kage Summit being held in the Leaf Village.

The guards at the village entrance have been attacked and Mitsuki has gone missing. Boruto and Sarada become concerned and look for him. When jonin are summoned by the Hokage to discuss the incident, they spy on the meeting to learn more.

Once it's discovered that Boruto and Sarada have left the village, Team 10 is assigned to bring them back. Meanwhile Boruto and Sarada go to find Orochimaru to ask him if he can explain the meaning of Mitsuki's message.

As Boruto and Sarada begin to make their way to the Ryuchi Cave, Team 10 intercepts them, demanding that they return with them to the Leaf Village.

Boruto and the others find Ryuchi Cave, but as they navigate the cave, they must undergo various trials before meeting the White Snake Sage.

In exchange for providing the information inside Mitsuki's snake, the White Snake Sage tells Boruto to retrieve a "reverse scale" from a snake named Garaga.

The battle to obtain Garaga's reverse scale continues. Garaga's ability to detect his enemy's location and turn them into stone makes the battle more difficult. Boruto and the others come up with a strategy that may help restrain Garaga.

Boruto's group learns that Mitsuki is heading for the Land of Earth. But in order to relay the information they have learned back to the Leaf Village, they decide to split up.

As Boruto's group is about to catch up to Mitsuki, they are stopped by Kokuyou. Kokuyou has immense strength and Boruto's group is overwhelmed. But with the arrival of help they are able to advance onward and finally meet with Mitsuki.

Mitsuki continues to follow Kokuyou and Sekiei. But as they travel, Sekiei's body begins to deteriorate. While waiting for help, Sekiei asks Mitsuki to tell him about human life. In the Hidden Stone Village, Kurotsuchi is attacked.

As Sarada, Shikadai, Inojin, and Chocho wait for Boruto to recover, they contemplate whether or not they should return the Leaf Village. Meanwhile, Boruto dreams of a reality where Mitsuki has not left the village.

Boruto, Sarada, Shikadai, and Chocho sneak into the Hidden Stone Village hoping to find and get help from Ohnoki. They are unaware, however, that someone has noticed their presence and are secretly being watched.

Boruto and the others are able to meet with Ohnoki, but they are shocked to learn of his involvement in the plot with the Akuta.

As they make their way to the rendezvous, Boruto and Ohnoki find themselves trapped inside of a barrier in a shinobi training ground. Meanwhile, Mitsuki meets with Ku.

To escape the barrier, Boruto searches for his Heart of Stone. During his search, he comes across a familiar face. Meanwhile, in order to fully heal his comrades, Ku decides that drastic measures need to be taken to fulfill their purpose.

Ohnoki takes Boruto to the place of his grandson's death and explains how the tragedy occurred and the development of his plan following it.

Boruto and Ohnoki are found by Kakou. Boruto battles with Kakou, but struggles against his Particle Style jutsu. Meanwhile, Shikadai attempts to deliver news of the ongoing crisis to the Leaf Village.

Boruto's group is captured and taken back to the Hidden Stone Village, along with Ohnoki. But when they arrive to the village, Ohnoki is shocked to find the villagers have vanished. Ohnoki demands an explanation, but Ku refuses to comply.

Boruto and Sarada fall under Kirara's genjutsu, which takes control of their bodies' movements. Treating them like dolls, Kirara orders them to kill each other. Meanwhile, Ohnoki, who has been imprisoned, reflects on the error of his ways.

Mitsuki suddenly attacks Ku, leaving everyone shocked and confused, especially Sekiei. Feeling immensely betrayed, Sekiei attacks Mitsuki.

Ku, with his newly acquired heart, comes after Mitsuki. With Team 7 reunited, Boruto, Mitsuki and Sarada fight Ku to put a stop to him.

Boruto, Sarada and the others return to the Leaf Village with Mitsuki. Sarada worries about the future if their team, but Boruto maintains faith that things will go back to normal.

The Leaf Village celebrates a new holiday called Parent and Child Day. Naruto spends the day with Himawari, who wants a limited edition toy made only for the holiday.

During Parent and Child Day, Chocho and Choji enter a food eating contest in hopes of Choji impressing Karui.

Sasuke returns to the village. When he learns about Parent and Child Day, he decides to spend the day with Sarada and attempts to bond with her, but has difficulty doing so.

Not wanting to be a hindrance and cause her team trouble with her crying jutsu, Namida decides to train to learn a new jutsu.

The chief elder of the Nara Clan tells Shikadai that he needs to become a politician to bring prestige to the clan. To help reduce the pressure put on his father, Shikadai considers this proposal.

Team 7 and Team 15 have a joint mission to go to a village by the outskirts of the Land of Fire where the villagers are being attacked by birds.

Team 7 finds Jugo as a rampaging monster due to his Curse Mark. While they are able to subdue him, the effort greatly weakens Konohamaru. The others begin to follow Jugo when they see he can remove the Curse Marks from the attacking birds.

Boruto and the others continue to watch Jugo as he saves the infected birds while giving him his tranquilizers to suppress the Curse Mark. But when Jugo transforms again, they find the tranquilizers have disappeared.

Sumire is searching for her team when she is suddenly confronted by Suigetsu and Karin, who are looking for Jugo. When they are met with Boruto's group, they make a plan to find Jugo when they become suspicious of the Land of Rivers team.

Boruto and Suigetsu find Jugo's location, but they're tranquilized and are unable to move. Meanwhile, Sarada and Karin, and Sumire's group fight the twins that are using the power of the Curse Mark.

Boruto chases after Jugo, who is undergoing his Curse Mark transformation. Tosaka finds them and wants to test the strength of his Curse Mark against Jugo. Meanwhile, Sarada and Karin begin to gather the infected birds before they migrate.

Team 7 has a mission to help the police catch a jewel thief, but they lose track of them. After the mission, they find a lost kitten and it's decided that Mitsuki will look after it.

Mitsuki goes to Orochimaru when he starts to not feel well due to him having recurring dreams. Orochimaru and Log look into his memories to decipher what the problem might be.

Mirai has a mission to be an escort for Kakashi and Guy outside of the village. However, what she initially believes to be a super important mission is actually just a mission to guard Kakashi and Guy while they take a vacation.

Mirai, Kakashi, and Guy make it to the hot spring village while they are having a Dog and Cat Festival.

While Mirai and the others are relaxing at a hot spring inn, Guy freaks out, claiming to have seen a ghost. There have also been strange occurrences happening around the inn and Mirai decides to investigate.

Mirai's group, along with Tatsumi, travels to a village that has a secret hot spring. Unfortunately when they arrive it is being blocked by a giant bolder. Choji happens to appear and can help, but first needs food to get his energy back.

Mirai helps Tatsumi search for a hot spring that allows people to talk to the dead so that she may see her mother again. Mirai has hope that, if it truly exists, she may be able to speak with her late father, Asuma, for the first time.

Mirai and the other girls begin to undergo the ritual to see their deceased loved ones again. But as the ritual continues, Mirai begins to sense something amiss.

Naruto and Shikamaru discuss the events of the Chunin Exams and the Hidden Stone incident to decide which genin they should promote to chunin.

With Shikadai as a newly promoted chunin, he is assigned as captain for a team consisting of Boruto, Iwabe, and Wasabi. They are given a mission to locate a rare flower that blooms once every few years before thieves come to steal it.

Boruto and some of his friends have begun collecting Extreme Ninja Cards, a very popular card game that features famous ninja from history. When they realize there are no cards of Shino and Rock Lee, they fight over who should have a card.

Kakashi looks into a complaint from the post office regarding the genin from Team 25, who are having a hard time cooperating with one another.

Konohamaru saves a woman named Remon as she's being chased by a group of people in the village. For her to continue her sightseeing in peace, Konohamaru and Boruto act as her bodyguards.

Konohamaru and Boruto find Remon's home only to be treated coldly by her. They discover that she is a fiancée to a man named Kankitsu. They sense something amiss with the situation and return to Remon later in the night to question her.

Konohamaru and Boruto spy on Kankitsu to see if they find anything suspicious about him. Konohamaru is caught and forced to go back to the Leaf Village. Boruto follows Kankitsu and Asaki as they enter the shrine that holds the Soma.

Konohamaru and Boruto rush to Remon's village to rescue her. But when they arrive at the wedding, the Soma's seal has been broken, allowing it to be resurrected and once again attack people.

When Boruto sees Sasuke's hawk sending a message to the Hokage's office, Boruto discovers from the message that he is located at an area in the Land of Wind. Eager to continue his training, Boruto sneaks out of the village to find Sasuke.

After Sasuke disappears, Gaara continues to battle Urashiki, who is after the Tailed Beast, Shukaku. Gaara asks Kankuro and Shinki, along with Boruto, to take Shukaku and hide him in the Leaf Village.

Kankuro orders Boruto and Shinki to travel onward while he fends off the Otsutsuki puppets. Boruto worries about Kankuro fighting alone, but Shinki, seemingly apathetic to the situation, merely wishes to continue the mission.

As Shinki travels alone with Shukaku, he is confronted by an Otsutsuki puppet. He becomes injured from it's attack, but luckily Boruto, Shikadai and Temari arrive in time to help fight it off.

As Boruto and Shinki make their way to the border of the Land of Fire, Urashiki begins to pursue them to obtain Shukaku.

Boruto distracts Urashiki long enough for Shinki to enter the Land of Fire with Shukaku. When he realizes he's been tricked, Urashiki decides to use Boruto as a hostage. But suddenly, to Boruto's surprise, Shinki returns to help Boruto.

Shukaku stays with the Uzumakis while in the Leaf Village. Himawari tries to befriend him, much to his annoyance. But when he discovers that she was once capable of knocking out Kurama, he decides to try to find out how it was possible.

Boruto learns about Jiraiya, Naruto's former master, and is fascinated by him. Wanting to learn more about him, Boruto and Sarada search for his book called Make-Out Tactics, believing that they will learn more about the great shinobi.

Urashiki begins attacking Leaf ninja. Boruto is excluded from a mission with the other genin to help out because he was previously targeted. Sasuke and Boruto form a two-man team and remain in the village, anticipating Urashiki's arrival.

Due to the ancient Otsutsuki relic, Boruto and Sasuke find themselves trapped in the Leaf Village of the past. Realizing that Urashiki's plan is to attack Naruto as a child, the two begin searching for the young Naruto.

Boruto tags along with Naruto and the other genin of the past when they receive a particular order from the Hokage, giving him the opportunity to see what they were like as kids.

Urashiki suddenly appears before Boruto, Sasuke and Naruto and attempts to extract the Nine-Tails chakra from Naruto. When the sealing jutsu placed on Naruto prevents him from taking it, Urashiki entraps the others and kidnaps Naruto.

After the fight with Urashiki, Jiraiya insists that Boruto and Naruto train together to learn how to synchronize their chakra. The training, however, is met with difficulty, as Boruto has developed a fear of the Nine Tails power.

Boruto and Naruto continue their training. Curious about Sasuke's past, Boruto asks Naruto about why he deserted the village. Meanwhile, Sasuke and Jiraiya discuss and plan how to confront Urashiki for when they next encounter him.

Boruto, Naruto, Jiraiya and Sasuke begin battle with Urashiki once again. But Urashiki proclaims that he is able to see the future and is able to avoid all of their attacks with ease.

On the verge of defeat, Urashiki manages to power up himself by transforming, becoming much more stronger then before. Boruto and the others brace themselves for their final battle with Urashiki.

After their battle with Urashiki, Boruto and Sasuke prepare to leave the Leaf Village of the past to return to the Leaf Village of the present.

When Sumire is accepted to join the Scientific Ninja Tools Team, a samurai exchange student is set to join Team 15 with Wasabi and Namida to fill her spot.

A birthday party is being planned for Hiashi. But Boruto has difficult time trying to decide what to get for a gift, not knowing what his grandfather would be interested in.

When Enko Onikuma, from Team 40, begins to have trouble controlling the summoning beast that inhabits her body, her teammates, Tsuru and Doushu try to learn to overcome their fears with the help of Boruto's team.

Inojin decides he wants to master the Mind Transfer Jutsu and seeks out his parents' help. Chocho agrees to help him out, but Inojin's lack of confidence causes him to perform the jutsu poorly, which irritates Ino.

Boruto and Mitsuki are sent to the shinobi prison, Hozuki Castle, to protect an inmate who is a former member of a group known as the Mujina Gang.

When the warden, Benga, refuses to assign Kokuri to Boruto's and Mitsuki's cell, they try to find out Benga's weaknesses to exploit him. A prisoner named Doragu is willing to provide them with information, but they must first pass a test.

The guards begin to search for the perpetrator who stole the wooden tag and are threatening to put prisoners in solitary confinement. Believing one of his cellmates to be Kokuri's assassin, Boruto demands everyone's belongings be searched.

Boruto's team believes that Kokuri is hiding details about the robbery he committed and they try find out the truth. Meanwhile, Benga and Tsukiyo plot to find a way to send Kokuri to another prison that houses Mujina Gang members.

Boruto, Mitsuki and Sarada begin to plan a breakout from Hozuki Castle to escape with Kokuri before he is sent to the other castle. However, when Kedama overhears their plans, Mitsuki tries to convince him to keep their plans secret.

Boruto, Mitsuki, and Kokuri begin to carry out their plan to escape Hozuki Castle. Meanwhile, Sarada finds herself trapped in an underground area of the prison that starts to flood with water.

Boruto and the others escape from Hozuki Castle, but while they are waiting for an escape boat, Tsukiyo suddenly appears. Tsukiyo wields a strange jutsu that utilizes the moonlight, but Boruto's team fight him off to protect Kokuri.

Boruto dreams of when he defeated Momoshiki and it causes him to lose focus on a mission. Later, when the Leaf Village expects a visit from the Land of Fire's Feudal Lord, Boruto and his friends meet his spoiled son, Tento Madoka.

Boruto has been given a mission to guard Tento during his stay at the Leaf Village. While Boruto guards him, Tento asks for Boruto to teach him ninjutsu. Boruto agrees, hoping the training will give the boy an attitude adjustment.

After Boruto finishes guarding Tento, Team 7 receives their very first B-Rank mission. But when Boruto finds out that Tento has been kidnapped by the Mujina Gang for ransom, he decides to not partake in the mission to rescue Tento.

Boruto saves Tento from Shojoji before he can use his Corpse Clone jutsu. Boruto fights Shojoji, but his abilities are ineffective against Shojoji's jutsu. In the midst of battle, the mark on Boruto's palm starts to react and change form.

Sarada is selected for Team 7 to attend a medical ninjutsu training class, which is being lead by Sakura. Despite being Sakura's daughter, Sarada doesn't have good skills in medical ninjutsu and attending the class makes her anxious.

Tsubaki learns that ever since she joined Team 15 their performance score has been low, even lower than Team 5's score. Tsubaki suggests the she, Wasabi, and Namida need to begin rivalries with each other to help raise their score.

Himawari is unsure whether or not she wants to become a ninja. When the Ninja Academy holds a trial session for those interested, Himawari attends despite her uncertainty.

One day, Mitsuki and Mikazuki find an injured man in an alleyway. Later, Team 7 receives a mission to protect a company president from someone known as the "Rainy Day Killer".

When the sweet shop's azuki bean deliveries are being raided by thieves, affecting the the store's sweet bean soup sales, Cho-Cho teams up with Anko to capture the thieves.

Sai and Sasuke travel to the Hidden Rain Village to investigate a location that could be the hideout for the organization known as Kara.

Team 7 receives a mission to find a missing researcher for a medical company in the Land of Valleys, along with a shinobi named Mugino as their guide.

Team 7 and Mugino find the missing researcher, but he goes on a strange rampage and they are unable to restrain him. As they are about to head back to the Leaf Village, Mitsuki suddenly falls to an illness and they search for a doctor.

Boruto and the others head to the black market located in the Land of Silence to find information about and retrieve the Hashirama Cell.

After learning that the Hashirama Cell is in the hands of a wealthy women that lives in the Land of Silence, Boruto and Konohamaru infiltrate the her castle to retrieve it.

Boruto and the others are framed for the crimes that took place in Fushuu Castle. They attempt to go after the true culprits that stole the Hashirama Cell, but this proves to be challenging as they are attacked by gangs in the village.

Team 7 encounter Omoi and his team from the Hidden Cloud Village, who are also after the group that stole the Hashirama Cell. The two teams decide to cooperate until the mysterious shinobi, Deepa, appears before them.

Boruto's team finally catches up to the thieves, but one of the brothers activates a jutsu that creates a barrier and summons a monster that absorbs the energy of any living thing it touches.

Team 7 continues to chase after the Hashirama Cell but are again stopped by one of the Haze ninja. Hiruga, like his brothers, resorts to deadly ninjutsu to stop Team 7, leaving Boruto baffled by their willingness to sacrifice their lives.

Boruto and the others hurry after Hiruga's brother, Asaka, before Deepa finds him. Unfortunately, as soon as they do, Deepa appears and mercilessly attacks them, and any counterattacks thrown at him have no effect.

Boruto and Sarada are rushed back to the Leaf Village and are brought to hospital to be treated while Mitsuki is returned to Orochimaru for treatment.

Boruto and Sarada decide to train to strengthen their abilities. Boruto seeks out Kakashi for help while Sarada trains with Sasuke. Meanwhile, Konohamaru and Mugino return to Victor's company to investigate his motives.

While Boruto and Sarada train, Team 10 is given a mission with Shinki's team from the Sand Village to collect an Otsutsuki puppet that was left in the desert. During the mission, they cross paths with Deepa, who is also after the puppet.

After encountering Deepa, Shikadai offers to help Boruto train to strengthen his rasengan. Meanwhile, Sarada continues to train with Sasuke, but Sakura is worried that she is straining herself too much.

Under Kakashi's supervision, Boruto tests his new rasengan against Shojoji. Meanwhile, Sakura decides to join Sarada's training and test her resolve for becoming stronger.

Team 5 meet a boy in the hospital that tries to manipulate them into getting a certain shinobi's autograph to prove they're not afraid of anything. Learning that the boy is to undergo an operation, they reluctantly accept his request.

Having completed their training, Boruto and Sarada return to the Land of Valleys to visit Mia. Meanwhile, Konohamaru and Mugino find a means of infiltrating the basement of Victor's company when Victor expects a visit from a feudal lord.

The secret of Victor's research facility is revealed as a new Divine Tree comes to life and sucks the chakra out of any person it comes in contact with.

Boruto and Sarada face off once again against Deepa. Despite training, Deepa still proves to be a fearsome opponent. Even Konohamaru has difficulty as he battles Victor. But suddenly, two unexpected people arrive in their moment of need.

Naruto holds a meeting to discuss what course of action to take regarding the threat of Kara and the Leaf Village's safety. Meanwhile, Boruto and his friends help Denki with an experiment.

The Yamanaka clan begins testing a new sensory system for the village that can detect any unregistered chakras. Inojin is among the sensory ninja recruited to provide data, but his skills in sensory detection are lacking.

The Leaf Village holds a memorial service to honor those that died during the Fourth Great Ninja War. Shikamaru and Ino both reminisce about their fathers. Meanwhile, Ao, the Fifth Mizukage's right-hand man, pays a visit to the village.

The organization Kara begins to move forward with it's plans that involves something known as "The Vessel." Victor, however, having his own hidden agenda, plots to sabotage those plans.

Konohamaru and Mugino are set to take on an urgent mission. Boruto runs into Mugino in the village and is invited to his home before he departs for the mission.

The airship carrying Kara's "Vessel" has crashed in the Land of Fire and the Inners hold an emergency meeting regarding it. Meanwhile, in the Leaf Village, Naruto tests a new scientific ninja tool by sparring with Boruto.

Team 7 is given a mission to escort Katasuke and the prosthetic arm to a research lab in another city. Boruto begrudgingly accepts the mission, having a dislike for Katasuke and scientific ninja tools ever since the Chunin Exams.

Team 7 and Katasuke arrive at the Advanced Technology Lab and are met with familiar faces. Boruto believes the mission is over, but Team 7 is also asked to assist in testing some of the scientific ninja tools that the lab has developed.

After finding out that Konohamaru and Mugino have gone missing, Team 7 is ordered to go to their last known location and investigate what happened. Team 7 and Katasuke arrive at the airship wreckage, but are attacked by strange puppets.

Team 7 learns that Ao is now an enemy that works for Kara. After Mugino's plan allows them to escape, they begin to strategize on how to handle the situation. Meanwhile, the members of Kara learn that there may be a traitor among them.

The showdown between Team 7 and Ao begins. Team 7 works together to bring Ao down with various attacks and jutsu, but he proves to be a difficult adversary due to his use of scientific ninja tools.

After Ao's defeat, Koji Kashin appears before Team 7 and attempts to ensnare them in a sealing jutsu and eliminate them. Konohamaru breaks free and takes him on, but during the battle, the mark on Boruto's hand activates.

Koji Kashin retreats from battle after seeing that Boruto has a "Karma" mark on his hand. Shortly after, Team 7 discovers a battle site where a boy lies unconscious. Much to everyone's shock, the boy possesses the same mark as Boruto.

Boruto and the others learn that the boy named Kawaki is the target that Kara has been seeking. They watch on as a battle rages between Kawaki and the Kara Outer, Garo, and are shocked by the young man's capabilities.

Boruto and the others return to the technology lab to contain and watch over Kawaki while Konohamaru returns to the Leaf Village to report the events of the mission to Naruto.

Wounded and hungry, Kawaki escapes from the tech lab and makes his way to a nearby town to find food. Sumire tracks him down, believing she can help him. Meanwhile, Naruto begins making his way to the area to meet with Kawaki himself.

Kawaki falls unconscious and is taken to the Leaf Village. While he sleeps in a hospital, he is plagued with nightmares of his childhood days when he lived with his abusive father.

During a Kage Summit, it is decided that Naruto will take custody of Kawaki. Kawaki reluctantly accompanies Naruto to the Uzumaki household. When Boruto learns that Kawaki will be staying with them, the environment quickly turns hostile.

Kawaki starts living at the Uzumaki household. At first, he has a difficult time opening up and trusting the family, but the peaceful environment of the house helps to calm him down. One day, he asks Boruto about how he acquired his Karma.

Kawaki offers to work with Boruto to learn more about the Karma they both possess, but Boruto is still angry with him for breaking Himawari's vase. To try to make amends, Kawaki goes into town with Naruto to find a new vase.

Naruto trains Boruto at shinobi hand-to-hand combat while Kawaki and others watch. Kawaki insists that Boruto uses his Karma against Naruto to learn how to wield it's power. Meanwhile, Koji Kashin searches for Kawaki in the village.

Delta loses patience with Koji Kashin and begins to search for Kawaki herself. Meanwhile, to learn more about how to control their Karma, Boruto and Kawaki spar with each other while Naruto and Himawari watch.

Delta makes her way into the village and appears before Naruto and the others to take Kawaki back. To protect Boruto, Himawari, and Kawaki, Naruto activates the Nine Tails power to confront the vicious Kara Inner.

Naruto continues his battle against Delta, but she has scientific ninja tools implanted in her body that can shoot destructive beams and absorb any jutsu. Nevertheless, he launches an attack using the Giant Rasengan.

After losing his arm in battle, Kawaki is given a prosthetic arm powered by Naruto's chakra. Learning about the powers and capabilities of using chakra, Kawaki asks Naruto to be trained in ninjutsu.

Kurama appears before Kawaki and tells him about Naruto's past. Hearing that they have similar experiences, Kawaki aspires to be like Naruto and strengthens his resolve to train to be able to defeat Jigen.

Using data found on Kara's airship, Sasuke travels to a strange location that has a connection to the Otsutsuki Clan. Meanwhile, Boro has been traveling to villages and healing the sick. To these people, he offers a means for salvation.

Everyone is going about their daily lives in the village until Jigen suddenly appears before Kawaki. Jigen intends on taking Kawaki back by force, but Naruto intervenes and begins to battle with Jigen.

Naruto is sent into another dimension with Jigen. They are joined by Sasuke, who informs Naruto about Jigen being an immensely dangerous individual. Naruto and Sasuke engage in a fierce battle and attempt to put an end to Jigen.

Boruto, Kawaki and the others sense something has happened to Naruto. But before anyone can act, Shikamaru and his subordinates arrive and erect a barrier around the Uzumaki home to contain Kawaki, believing he can't be trusted.

Boruto, Sarada, Mitsuki, and Kawaki arrive at the dimension that Naruto is trapped in, but Boro is there waiting for them. The four create a team with Sarada leading them to fight Boro, who uses a black mist to paralyze his enemies.

The reformed Team 7 launches a series of attacks on Boro. But even when they land successful attacks, Boro instantly revives himself with his extraordinary regeneration powers.

Boro goes on a rampage and attempts to eliminate Boruto and the others. Boruto is beat down and falls unconscious. Then suddenly, his Karma activates and he becomes possessed by Momoshiki's spirit.

Kawaki begins to worry that his presence is endangering everyone in the Leaf Village. Just as he makes the decision to leave, he notices Himawari acting strange.

Konohamaru and Sai are given a mission to infiltrate Boro's cult in order to obtain information on Kara and its whereabouts.

News has spread throughout the Leaf Village that a cloaked man has stolen data from the archives. Team 10 decides to launch their own investigation to find and catch the thief.

Amado defects from Kara. Desiring to seek asylum in the Leaf Village, he takes Shikadai hostage. If granted asylum, Amado promises to provide the Leaf Village with every bit of knowledge that he has about Kara.

Amado reveals to Naruto and the others the knowledge that he possesses regarding Jigen, the Otsutsuki Clan, and Karma. Meanwhile, Koji Kashin confronts Jigen, and Amado's plan to eliminate him is revealed.

Koji Kashin continues his battle with Jigen, whose body is revealed to have been taken over by Isshiki Otsutsuki. He continuously hits Jigen with a barrage of attacks in an attempt to drag Isshiki out of his body and destroy him.

Isshiki regains his true form and goes to the Leaf Village to recapture Kawaki. The Leaf shinobi prepare for his arrival. Boruto is willing to fight, but he becomes frightened at the possibility of losing control of his Karma again.

Boruto opens a portal and transports Isshiki and himself to another dimension. Naruto and Sasuke follow them, and the final battle against Isshiki begins.

Naruto and Sasuke are greatly overwhelmed by Isshiki's abilities. As a last resort, Kurama offers Naruto a chakra mode called Baryon Mode, which grants him immense power. The intensity of this power, however, could end his life.

Naruto and the others witness Isshiki's end. When they think the fighting is over, Sasuke is suddenly attacked by Boruto, who has been taken over by Momoshiki again. Meanwhile, Naruto reminisces with Kurama, believing his life is fading.

Naruto and the others return to their village after defeating Isshiki. Boruto is worried that Momoshiki might take over his consciousness once again. Meanwhile, Amado gives some information about a mysterious new villain named Code.

Since the battle with Isshiki, Boruto has trouble sleeping, fearing his Otsutsukification will progress even more. Naruto converses with the other Kage about Code, as well as what do to about Boruto's condition.

After recent events, Naruto arranges for the Chunin Exam to be held in the village. This raises the spirits of all of the Leaf genin and they become eager to show off their experience from their past missions.

The Leaf genin that passed the first two rounds are given one day to rest and train before the final round of the Chunin Exam.

The final round of the Chunin Exam begins and Inojin and Houki are selected to fight in the first match. Meanwhile, when Boruto and Mitsuki are heading to the arena for the Exam, they spot suspicious men in the village.

The next match of the final round is Wasabi versus Iwabe. Iwabe is pumped to take her on, but Wasabi is not as enthusiastic. Wasabi's family has come to watch her, but she believes she has no chance of winning due to her clan's reputation.

Sarada and Cho-Cho are chosen for the third match of the final round of the Chunin Exam. Even though they're best friends, the two make a promise to each other to give it everything that they've got and take the fight seriously.

Boruto and Mitsuki are called for the next match. Unfortunately, due to them not arriving on time for the Exam, they are disqualified, which leads to the final match between Denki and Tsubaki.

As a chunin, Sarada will become Team 7's new captain, relieving Konohamaru of his duties. The team becomes saddened by this fact, but when a mission Konohamaru is on goes awry, they ask to have one final mission with him as their leader.

For Kawaki to become a genin, Naruto has him go on D-Rank missions, which will serve as tests to see if he is qualified. Kawaki, however, has no interest in cooperating with the teams he is placed with, much to his teammates' frustration.

Given one last chance at becoming a genin, Kawaki is assigned to join Shikadai and Cho-Cho on a mission to escort and protect Mozuku from the Land of Calm Seas.

Kawaki, Shikadai and Cho-Cho are attacked by shinobi that steal Mozuku's package. Realizing the mission is not a regular escort mission, Shikadai makes the decision to return home, but Kawaki disregards his orders and goes after the enemy.

When traveling merchants are attacked by bandits, Team 15 is sent out to investigate the incidents. When she finds a clue at a crime scene, Tsubaki suspects that a samurai, whom she trained with long ago, is involved in the robberies.

With Denki now leading as captain, Team 5 receives its first mission B-Rank. They have been assigned a mission to transport automated puppets to miners in the Land of Water. Their client, however, questions Denki's abilities as a shinobi.

Team 7, with Kawaki as its newest member, is assigned a mission to escort Katasuke to the Hidden Mist Village for a ceremony. Boruto uses the mission as an opportunity to visit Kagura, who is now the warden of a state-of-the art prison.

An airship explodes at the ceremony, injuring many of its attendees. Just as Boruto is about to rush back to the site, pirates of the Funato clan infiltrate the prison to break out their clan leader.

The Funato pirates have taken over Dotou Island, where Team 5 and the mining workers are trapped. Team 7 and Kagura, along with the former members of the New Seven Ninja Swordsmen, head over to the island to rescue them.

An enormous mobile fortress belonging to the Funato appears. Kagura sends Boruto, Kawaki, and Buntan to investigate and gather intel. Meanwhile, Sarada and Mitsuki work with Team 5 to carry out a plan to rescue the people of Dotou Island.

Boruto, Kawaki, and Buntan find a powerful weapon aboard the mobile fortress. Kagura, Hebiichigo, and Kyoho join them to help destroy the weapon, but Tenma of the Funato clan stands in their way.

Someone is murdered aboard the ship heading back to the Mist Village. Kyoho is considered to be the prime suspect, but he claims to be innocent. Boruto and Iwabe stand guard over Kyoho while everyone else searches the ship for clues.

Boruto and the others are stranded in the middle of the ocean due to the ship being damaged. Luckly, they are found by the shipbuilders, Kajiki and Ikada, who are willing to tow the ship to their island to help repair it.

Boruto travels with Ikada in his boat to get a ship part from the parts factory. Boruto learns about Ikada's dream of becoming a great shipbuilder. As the two continued to get acquainted, they find themselves in the middle of a storm.

Ikada's older sister, Seiren, arrives at the shipbuilder's island demanding that he returns to the Funato clan. Meanwhile, Hebiichigo discovers that that she, Buntan and Kyoho may not be getting the reduced sentence they hoped for.

Seiren, Funamushi, and a group of pirates return to the island of shipbuilders and wreak havoc. Funamushi goes after Kagura to capture and use him as a bargaining chip while Seiren targets Boruto.

A hidden message is discovered that reveals the Funato are going to launch a sneak attack on the Hidden Mist Village. Kagura leads everyone to his childhood village, where he plans to stop the enemy.

While Boruto and the others carry out their plan, enemy scouts are seen approaching the village. Kagura is worried about not having enough people to fight Funamushi's squad and removes the curse marks on Buntan, Hebiichigo, and Kyoho.

Funamushi and his elite squad discover that Kagura, Boruto and the others are hiding in the village. Seeing through Kagura's plan, they launch a full-scale attack and Boruto and the others must work to together to fight off them off.

During the battle against Funamushi, Kagura is fatally injured. Boruto becomes enraged and charges at Funamushi, activating his Karma. When the Funato squad retreats, Kagura gives Boruto and the others one final request.

Upon learning that Tenma was killed, Araumi relieves Isari of his duties and takes control of the Funato forces. Meanwhile, following Funamushi's assault, Boruto and the others try to resolve the village's food shortage issue.

Boruto and the others learn that Denki and Iwabe have been captured by Funamushi's squad. Funamushi and his squad arrive at the village again, determined to avenge Seiren, and another battle begins.

After battling with Funamushi, Boruto and the others continue to search for Denki and Iwabe. Later, when Boruto is targeted by someone for his involvement in Funamushi's death. Boruto begins to question the reason for fighting the Funato.

While Boruto and the others were fighting Funamushi, Ikada had returned home to watch over his sister, Seiren. Ikada is reluctant to join the war with his clan, but the events to come will ultimately shape his resolve in joining the fight.

Isari attempts to negotiate peace with the Mist Village, but Araumi declares war against the Land of Water, with Ikada leading the Funato army. Boruto, believing that he pushed Ikada into this war, wants to find and make amends with him.

Boruto, Sarada, and Mitsuki go to see Chojuro and try to persuade him to back down from the upcoming battle to stop the war. Meanwhile, Ikada and the Funato army slowly make their way to the Shinonome 1 to destroy it.

Boruto, Sarada, and Mitsuki meet with Ikada. Boruto attempts to reason with Ikada to make him stop the battle with the Hidden Mist.

When Boruto's attempts to reason with Ikada fail, Boruto offers to his life to atone for what he has done. Sarada and Mitsuki try to stop him, but Boruto insists on sacrificing himself and asks that they don't take revenge if he dies.

Boruto and the others return safely to the Leaf Village. While Naruto informs Team 7 of events that have occurred in the Hidden Mist since they left, Boruto and Kawaki get into an argument over whether or not Ikada should be punished.

Inojin and Cho-Cho receive orders to capture a rogue ninja, Jingo Kumano, but it turns out he's now a chef who owns a ramen shop. Jingo is worried about a ramen critic, so they try to help him create the perfect ramen for his restaurant.

Naruto is asked to make a guest appearance in the latest Kagemasa movie, but the filming takes place when he is supposed to be going on vacation with his family. Konohamaru, familiar with Naruto's abilities, offers to go in his place.

The Uzumaki family, along with Kawaki, go on vacation to a hot spring inn for some fun, rest and relaxation.

Team 7 assists the police department with nightly patrols to watch out for the culprits of a series of strange attacks. Meanwhile, Mitsuki has noticed that Mikazuki has gone missing and becomes worried.

Boruto and Kakashi help an engaged couple to stop a feud amongst their grandparents. While Kakashi is at first uninterested, he is offered something in exchange that persuades him to help out.

Kawaki enrolls at the Ninja Academy along with Himawari, who begins her studies to become a ninja. When a princess comes to study abroad, Kawaki is given a top-secret mission from Naruto to watch over her and protect her from enemies.

Princess Kae decides to have a tea party to get to know her classmates better. To continue his mission, Kawaki attends the party despite not knowing what to do there. Having learned about Kawaki's mission, Himawari offers to help him out.

Team 7 joins Himawari and Kawaki's class for a special lesson. Boruto creates a training exercise for the students, but they become very divided and refuse to come to class. Hana must do what she can to bring her students back together.

When one of the students shares a story about the "Seven Mysteries of the Academy", Himawari and several other classmates decide to return to the Academy at night and investigate the mysteries.

Hana decides to have a practical training session in the forest and has the class divided into 3-man teams. Kawaki is put on a separate team from Kae and does his best to watch her from afar.

Osuka is kidnapped for ransom along with Himawari. Kawaki and Kae try to locate and find them before the situation gets worse.

The Academy has an upcoming school festival and the class is going to put on a play about the Legendary Sannin. When they are asked to bring in handmade headbands, Kawaki brings his real headband, and Eiki becomes suspicious of him.

After what appears to be an assassination attempt on Kae, Kawaki is cautious on the day of the school festival. The festival begins and everyone enjoys themselves. But when it's time for the play, a bomb suddenly goes off at the Academy.

Kawaki is removed from the mission after it is found out that he had knowledge of an assassin. After the events of the festival, Kae is set to return home. To help Kae, Kawaki and Himawari search for clues to find out who the assassin is.

Kawaki resumes guarding Kae and Hana returns to the Academy. Hana learns about the assassin that targeted Kae and feels guilty for not protecting her class. Her memories of the incident are blurry and she tries to recall what happened.

The class goes on a field trip to a deserted island to do outdoor training exercises. But when a series of strange incidents occur, the students become unsettled. Kawaki believes that the assassin after Kae could be lurking on the island.

Kawaki finally learns the identity of the assassin. After Kae is kidnapped, Kawaki, Himawari, and the rest of their class work together to find and save her before it's too late.

Kawaki and Himawari are able to locate Kae thanks to their classmates. The assassin attacks them with the intent of eliminating them. However, taking on the assassin without harming Hana proves to be challenging.

Boruto travels with Sasuke to a hawk trainer to obtain a new messenger hawk. When they arrive to the trainer's home, they learn he is being threatened by a woman who runs a business selling rare animals and decide to investigate.

Sasuke succeeds in obtaining a Senri Hawk, but Boruto is worried about Tsuzura. Tsuzura learns that his mother plans to sell Yuki to a customer and does what he can to save the white hawk.

Boruto falls asleep on the train and wakes up in an unknown location with several of the other passengers. They are greeted by an individual called Ouga, who forces them to take part in a series of life-and-death experiments.

Boruto and the others begin Ouga's second experiment, in which everyone must hold and protect a candle that is linked to their life. Meanwhile, Sarada and Mitsuki begin to search for Boruto after they have noticed he has gone missing.

While they wait for the third experiment, Boruto and the other test subjects learn about each other's goals in life. When the experiment begins, they are put into a room with buttons that trigger deadly traps.

Boruto learns that one of the remaining test subjects may be working for Ouga. While the test subjects begin Ouga's fourth experiment, Team 7 continues to investigate Boruto's disappearance.
