Bush fires are ringing the township of Mt Thomas and Maggie and Wayne are out evacuating farm houses in the path of the inferno, but this routine job suddenly turns dangerous when they are confronted by a masked man brandishing a shotgun.

A siege has developed at the Mt. Thomas hospital. While the armed and desperate Nerida Davidson and Jason Bennett hold Maggie, Wayne, patients and staff on the inside, the rest of the Heelers lie in wait outside.

Cricket team rivalry, stolen meat, and suspicious fingerprints. Could all this lead to the capture of a wanted criminal?

The prime suspect in a series of child murders is found dead under mysterious circumstances while in police custody.

With the death in custody of a prisoner, an inquiry and an inquest is held. As evidence mounts, it's looking more like Nick Shultz is to blame.

A road traffic accident involves Adam but he is in a coma. With rain washing away evidence, the rest of the police force have to discover what actually happened and was it Adam's fault?

A survey team brings out the Mount Thomas residents who are not happy, as its believed a mental hospital is to be built there. Vandalism and then a shooting occur. As the police investigate, it's the local general hospital that holds the answers.

Wayne gets involved with a school problem, a teacher and her son. Whilst Ernie Pringle, the lollipop man, is causing more and more trouble for everyone, including the police and he is only trying to be helpful, but is he just a stirrer?

Lambs are being attacked and local farmers are determined to form a hunting party as one resident tells the tale of local puma that still roams the countryside. Wayne just can't seem to hit it off with Gabe.

A prisoner has escaped and has Wayne in his sights, as it looks like he escaped looking for revenge. This will bring Wayne, Gabe and her children into the firing line, as the police hunt for this dangerous criminal.

With one of their own gone, the police are in shock and everyone handles it differently. Then the wife turns up and a police funeral is out of the question, which makes the grieving process worse for the Mount Thomas police force.

Stories of fathers, daughters and family. As Maggie turns 25, the whole Doyle family turns up to celebrate. Meanwhile a local drug problem will spill over that no one sees coming. And Tom is in for a surprise.

Stories of two cars, two babies and Gary, who wants to join the police force but is sent with a flea in his ear by Inspector Faulkner, who just doesn't seem to fully understand the needs of country policing. And there's a stolen car with a baby in the back that's missing.

A new detective sergeant turns up at the station. A spate of burglaries is causing concern for the police, as is a father and his 10 year-old son for social services. Anna is being driven up the wall by Tom.

The spate of burglaries take a sinister turn as the wife of an ex-police sergeant is assaulted badly. The 10 year-old is placed with his mother by social services but there are further investigations needed.

A sheep shearing contest causes problems and then takes a nasty turn. Someone is watering the alcohol bottles at the pub and Tom is pushing Anna to name her baby.

PJ and the new detective sergeant are not getting on. PJ does his own investigation into sergeant and this brings him into conflict with the rest of his colleagues, but is PJ onto something?

A dispute between two neighbouring men are not shared by their children and an art judging contest by a snooty guest judge and his antics, do not impress Chris and Tom.

There's been a murder and Maggie had run into the victim the night before. The residents where she died, seem indifferent to the murdered woman's sad demise.

Chris is thinking of renovating the pub, this brings her into conflict with all her staff and things are going to go from bad to worse for her. Meanwhile a death of a teenager affects Adam deeply.

The new Probationary Constable, 19-year-old Dash McKinley, arrives in Mt Thomas much to Tom's annoyance and Adam's delight.

Clancy and his mum have an accident, but there is more to it than meets the eye. With policing and luck, the truth will reveal itself.

Trouble at the local high school has Dash getting involved between a student and a teacher, which leads to further incidents involving more police time and criminal damage.

A young woman accuses her father of abuse when she was a child. The evidence is convincing, but the police have to keep an objective eye as they investigate, as the young woman can't control her emotions or anger which keeps spilling over.

Dash and Nick are called out to an old farmhouse where they discover a vandalised room, a terrified child, and swinging from a light fitting - a dead lamb.

Dash has to deal with the death of a teenage girl. It's not her first but she questions if she could have done more. Meanwhile the police have to find out why and how she died?

There's been a bashing and the main suspect turns out to be Sam's dad, who has been searching for him and Anna across the country. Tom is caught in the middle and then the baby goes missing.

Nick is surprised by Dash's unprofessional behavior at the scene of a fatal accident, only to later learn that both victims were friends of hers. She insists she can cope with the trauma, but Nick feels there is more to it.

A local witch and Christian group come at odds and then there is a death. Maggie finds out about her boyfriend from PJ and she won't thank him for it, and Tom is having problems with his sister.

As Tom accepts the possibility that his daughter is gone for good, the team investigates a possible child abuse case and Dash is very taken with PJ's replacement.

5,000 litres of wine goes missing worth $100,000. How was it done and what has local Charlie Drake got to do with it? The new detective makes moves on Maggie, whilst Tom is looking for a carer for his grandson, with unexpected results.

Intent on buying a car but short on cash, Dash turns to Chris' new gaming machines then gets carried away by her winning streak, losing Adam's nest egg and putting pressure on their friendship.

Horses are being threatened in a local race and Detective Kowalski gets involved with a suspect and Tom sees this as going a step too far. He also quizzes Maggie and Dash over Kowalski, but they tell him they can handle him themselves.

PJ is back and takes a call from a 3 year-old who's mother is asleep and he can't wake her. His baby sister is also there and is running a fever. But can PJ and the Mount Thomas police force get to them, before the abusive boyfriend gets back?

Dash and Adam wreck the hard drive of the computer at the station while playing a game. They have the system quietly repaired locally and are anxious that Tom doesn't find out.

The return of a young criminal to Mt. Thomas stirs up painful memories for Dash. Nick and Adam are sent to a domestic in which PJ becomes the target of a family's rage against the police.

When a young mother of two is killed, a videotape of the incident appears to show that PJ cold-bloodedly shot her in the back.

It's Halloween in Mt. Thomas and when Dash and Adam are sent out to apprehend what they assume is a seasonal prank, a naked man painted blue, Dash is astonished to discover it is her brother Ian.

Nick is delighted when his old friend Gordy Muir turns up in Mt. Thomas to run a stress management "war games" course for corporate clients and thrilled when Gordy offers him a partnership in the new venture.

PJ's career hangs in the balance when the Coroners Inquest into Raelene Darcy's death begins. PJ suffers a crisis of confidence and only Maggie stands between him and professional ruin.

The favourite in the Miss Mt Thomas contest tells the Heelers she is being stalked, then mysteriously disappears while under the protection of Dash and Nick.

Dash's family problems reach a crisis point when her mother is admitted to a Melbourne hospital. She is in desperate need of a donor kidney to save her from certain death.
