It soon becomes clear even Salvos can be deeply involved in illegality, such as drug dealing, as certainly applies to Betty's ex, now an officer-trainee. Tragically, a suspect is killed himself.

His wife Marjan accuses his ex and alleged lover Ina de Vrede, with whom she had a crazy feud. Frank de Moor, whom Willem fired recently, was seen around. An animal smuggling opponent thinks the illegal trade gang they were after ordered him murdered, so De Cock searches for a possible inside accomplice.

De Cock however also discovers another type of grudge.

In this Dutch police detective series, Detective Jurriaan 'Jurre' de Cock is sort of the 'Columbo' of a Dutch city's police department, as deceptively poor in appearance (cheap raincoat) but always able to outsmart the crooks, usually one murderer per episode.
