At Home with the Gils follows one of Brazil's most famous musical families during the creation of a historic tour that aims to bring together their different generations on stage. Enter this house and get a closer look at their conflicts, their arguments, and their private moments behind-the-scenes of their rehearsals for this tour.

Gilberto Gil gathers his family on their country house to plan an European tour that will have all of them together on stage for the first time. The anticipation for the concerts is huge and they only have two weeks to settle on the details of the various performances. Each Gil must choose one song to enter the set-list.

It is Gilberto Gil's birthday, and the family organizes a big celebration. But this is not just Gil's day: his grandson João shares the same birthday. The festivities begin with a lot of excitement as they gather once again to carry on with the set-list selection. Preta starts by talking about self-esteem and how her husband had a key role in changing the way she sees her own beauty. Maria chooses a song that makes the whole family emotional after remembering Gil's son, Pedro Gil, who died in a car accident. João, one of the birthday boys, makes his choice and remarks...

It is the last day of creative confinement, and the tour's setlist still has not been established. The family gathers to make the final preparations and to plan out their trip to Europe. Between one meeting and another, the Gils make offerings to the orisha Oxalá and relax by playing soccer - which is always subject of much controversy in the family.
