11 November 1918. The world emerges from the worst conflict ever known. While the victors build a new world order, traumatized peoples rebuild their lives. In the years to come, the major empires collapse while hatred and fear resurface, leading the world to a new apocalypse.

Nations try to rebuild but are still grieving the thousands of unknown soldiers never to return; as ill-tended wounds fester, a rising nationalism propels the world to a new apocalypse . 8 million orphans from Europe are a big problem, and so in Britain they ship many off to western Canada where they became a cheap source of labour on farms. 1 in 10 Canadians today can trace their ancestors to these children.
